Mods, move this if it doesn't belong here.

I have in my possession a Transformers Big Looker Storybook from 1986.
    The title is "Insecticon Attack!"
I was just curious on how much it is worth (I found it at a book sale for $0.25).

I will post pictures if you want.

    I've got the whole set

They're not worth a whole lot - a couple of bucks each maybe.

Yeah, the people on Ebay who're selling have them at about 5 bucks, so your best bet would probably be to add it to your trade list, assuming books & comics are allowed. At least that way, you might be able to put it toward a toy or something that you might otherwise have had to buy or trade an existing toy for.

They're LISTING them at 5 bucks, doesn't mean people are buying... these are probably worth no more than a couple of dollars. It won't make you rich, but its a great slice of TF history. Enjoy it for that, and that alone.

These are GREAT books. I always enjoyed them :)

I have 3 of the 6 from the above image (the book from this thread is one of those, though :( )

The Wild Boy of Quintessa stands out to me still as the definitive Wheelie story. Not only because it was the only time the guy was actually tolerable back in the day.

    Great origin for him too.

As is the case with most things, it's worth whatever a collector is willing to pay for it.

However, I'd say the current prices on ebay are pretty accurate, but if they aren't in mint condition $5 seems overpriced because you still have to pay shipping.

$5 is probably the average price you'd see from a dealer at a convention too. Last few cons I've been to I've seen the vintage TF "Look and Find" books for $2-5.

My favorite from the Big Looker series is "The Great Car Rally" -- it's full of unintentional LOL moments:

"The Great Car Rally" is . . . well GREAT! It is one of my favorite TF things as a kid aside from the actual line itself. I've ALWAYS dug the artwork :)

I've not looked at mine in ages but weren't these the ones where the nice artwork was negatively affected (I hesitate to say ruined forever :p  ) by having the faction logos badly printed over the top of the painted ones?
