How well does the shiny paint stay on the plastic for Takara's United toys?

I've been on the fence about buying them. Haven't done so yet because it seems almost half the United toys I've seen in my part of the world have some damage to the shiny painted bits.

This is the case for the War for Cybertron and Classics Optimus/Megatron redecos on my end. I'm not sure if it's just a bad batch the shops received, or if this is the same issue elsewhere.

I had a hard time finding the 2 TF United Bees with good paint apps. To think that the store let me choose from 2 cases of each. Much worse is Cliff.

I haven't opened my Bees yet, planning to do so when I get doubles.

I'm not sure I'm willing to wait that long.

You are not alone and I do not think it is the batch issue. For each release, I will buy at least 2 United figure and that is quite a hell job to choose from the carton(s).

I remember I ordered 3 United Track but only picked up 2 at the first time as out of 3 carton, I could not find a proper paint one.

Only when it was restock, I managed to find the 3rd "perfect" piece.

Can't Tarakatomy have a better QC on this or is it the china workers got mad with the japanese figure?

My United figs are all perfect with no quality problems whatsoever. Then again I'm not to rough with them either.

It's not that kind of paint at all (vacuum metallized). Also Rattrap by far had the worst back of the vac-metal paint ever put on a Transformer.

The paint is pretty resistant on the United figures. It's a metallic silver painted painted over in a colored paint to get that appearance. It's pretty resistant, but obviously like anything could scratch under rough play.

I dunno since I don't really/rarely open up the Japanese version.

I just hope you're right on those shiny paintworks. :)

Also, Has/Tak pretty much fixed that already. Check out the 10th Anniversary version, no paint chips
