I don't know, but this is the same guy that slashed Ian Huntley's throat.

Don't be too quick with the 'give the guy a medal' remarks. Fowkes is no angel; he's a violent repeat offender who, among other things, threatened to kill a young mother and her two-year-old kid if she did not hand him over her valuables. I also question the 'altruism' of his targeting Hatch; the guy's been on the record as saying he wanted to 'make a name for himself' amongst the prison community. This is little more than a case of infighting among the scum.

It's almost like Starscream killing Megatron.

It's still evil regardless if the person killed was evil.

Didnt know all that. I think he should be given a medal for ridding the tax payers of a child killer (for whatever reasons he did it) but, for all that he did himself, still stay in prison for life. Life for robbery makes a bit more sense now too

Pretty much this, it is also a known that those who commit violent crimes against children are usually on the lowest rung of prison society at least inthe United States.

The guy is no great loss but that said I won't give his killer any praise for his actions, like as not he killed for some slight real or imagined.

Aggravated burglary (armed robbery for those in Yank land ;) ) is eligible for a life sentence to be employed. Also life sentence, in England and Wales, just means a minimum of 15 years, max 40, (7-25 in Canada) before you can apply for parole. Parole which you will be on for the rest of your life. Barring you get pardoned.

Child Killers and Molesters have targets on them in prison.

There won't be any witnesses unless a guard saw it.
