Just saw this movie last night. It was pretty good, actually.

It is based on the book of the same name by Cornelia Funke and stars Brendan Fraser, Helen Mirren, and Andy Serkis.

It is basically the same kind of movie like "Chronicles of Narnia," and other stuff. I never read the book, so I can't compare, but I was was pretty entertained by this movie. And the actress who played the little girl could actually act, so that was a very nice change from other movies I have seen recently where the leading lady had no talent...

I don't know if this actually got a theatrical release, becasue I honestly can't remember ever seeing it advertised before the DVD release. But the effects are pretty good.

And the A-list actors add a lot to it too. Helen Mirren is amazing. AMAZING!

All in all, worth a watch if you like the standard book-to-movie fantasy film.
