My second favorite 80's toon/toy line was Inhumanoids. The combined geoscience and horror theme appealed to me. As with most of the cool 80's toys, the package art was really cool and even partially educational.

Here is my attempt at an updated version of the Earth Corps figures. I wanted to really emphasis the exosuit concept, not just giant armor with a little human head at the top. The people are a combination of Tron Legacy Black Guard and the heads from the vintage Earth Corps figures (Liquidator and Bright's head sculpts are really great for the period, the others not so much, but so be it). The base for the exosuits is the Avengers line Stark Tech Assault Captain America armor (hopefully more come out with Avengers 2!), with key pieces were added from vintage Earth Corps figures and junker Terrascout parts along with random fodder. Auger's shins and part of the chest armor was sculpted with putty resemble the original brain look of the vintage figure (I'm convinced Auger was originally supposed tot be the human villan!). The Stark armor was modified to allow for the people to fit inside (didn't quite fit as well as Captain America!). They are all airbrushed with metallic paints, inked and dry brushed for a detailed and weathered look, and dry brushed with Tamiya weathering pastels to add a dusty look to feet and arms of the armor. The human heads were entirely repainted with hair colors matching the cartoon (first time to paint faces, be gentle!) Custom water slide decals were added for the Earth Corp logo and name stencils.

All part of an ongoing project to upgrade the Inhumanoids figure line. Here are my other entries so far:
    Metlar
    Tendril
    D Compose V1
    D Compose V2
    Blackthorn Shore
    Granok and Granite Warrior
    Diorama Base

    I absolutely fucking love it!

I'd love to see some pretenders made out of those exosuit bases.

It's crossed my mind, I think you'd be stuck with legends or cyberverse scale inner robots...and that doesn't sound too exciting...but I'll give it some thought.

What makes this extra awesome is I've just tonight introduced my kids to the Inhumanoids cartoon. The timing of seeing your amazing customs couldn't have been better.

Uncanny how you posted this as I just spoke with a Hasbro rep at Comic about "Primordia," the line that would have been the modern incarnation of the Inhumanoids. Sadly they will not be moving forward with it.

But with regards to your set, I love them all!! -Tecrom

These are marvelous! As a kid I always wanted Earth Corps. figures that could come out of their armor suits just like these. These are great updates!
Next you'll have to make bigger Inhumanoids!

Godamn! I wanted those toys when they sucked, now I want them soooo bad. I love how happy they are to go fight monsters underground in 80's tech body armor.

I totally had to drop a comment on this thread...late though.

These are some amazing updates to one of the better 80's cartoons. I love the creativity of modding these into actual exo suits and individual figures, this is something that if the original toys had I think it would have made them more popular.

    Outstanding work!

I wish they'd give it a modern reboot.
