Close if old news: Amidst all the Toy Fair news and fun, here comes something a little different. 9 page preview for Infestation #2. Enjoy: Newsarama | Exclusive IDW Preview: TRANSFORMERS: INFESTATION #2
I have to say that I'm not too excited about all this. The only hook for me is that Nick Roche is doing the art.
Holy crap, did they REALLY need to do a recap of how all this started already?! Seriously?! And yeah that IS a rip off of the Stargate. It looked even MORE like the Stargate in Infestation #1. This series officially sucks.
I really had high hopes for the Infestation series. But now that I am seeing it as mostly magic and alternate realities... it bores me. I read Transformers because I like technical type sci-fi and not magic and mysticism. I'll be getting this issue through my LCS but I am glad I passed on the other Infestation books.
A 9 page preview? Isn't the book only 22 pages or so? They're practically showing half the book. Is that typical? *edit* Okay, it's 32 pages, but still.
The first 3 pages are covers and artist/writer info page. Also, the last page is not an actual panel. So its really just 5 pages of actual comic material.
Good god this crossover is worse then the Avengers one, at least the art in that one was good, i wish they actually did a G.I. Joe Star Trek and Ghostbusters Crossover, not this Zombie Crap, and to all the people who say this is better than ongoing that just show how much you dont care about story setup.
Is that a frackin Stargate? Since when did IDW get the rights to Stargate? Did the infestation start in the Stargate universe (I know Stargate had a storyline dealing with zombies in the show)?
I remember now why I stopped going to Newsarama - when they started using that stupid "launcher" that doesn't work on a majority of peoples' browsers because you have to install all this stupid crap. So while I'd like to see the preview, sad day for me.
No, it's not actually the Stargate. They just completely ripped off the design of the Stargate for their stupid little story. It was even closer in design in Infestation #1. the chevrons were identical, it had a metal ramp leading up to it with lights on it, and it was even in an underground military facility. COMPLETE rip off. I WAS one of those people that thought Infestation Transformers #1 was better than the ongoing, but after that last issue of ongoing that was actually pretty good, and this preview.... I take it all back.
