I like Firestorm so far, but I'll suggest Vanguardion just to optimize choices for all.

 

I'm for Guardius as it's vaguely G1'ish sounding.

What about making him the torso of Nexus Prime, seeing as how he's a retool of Hot Spot, who was remolded into Onslaught, which the Energon version of was retooled to be the original Nexus Prime toy's torso.

 

Well, in the comic "masters of mayhem" or something like that, Inferno was part of a group that was a Autobot progect to make a new combiner called "protect Firestormer" so I would call him Firestormer. Feels appropriate.

 

How about Roadblock? To honor TF Energon's Inferno who later became Roadblock after being injured.

After a small part swap, and chasing down the proper limbs, he will be called Guard City.

Once I get my Inferno, and finish him with some Shapeways upgrades like a new combiner head and ne chest piece, his combiner team is going to be Alpha Bravo, Strongarm (CW Offroad with RID Strongarm head), Breacher (Rook repaint with FOC Topspin head), maybe Ratchet 9First Aid repaint with new head) and with Flare Up (Wreck-Gar Legends with Prime Arcee head) to form Guardian; a Guard City/G2 Defensor homage.

I gave Inferno the Sky Reign limbs (because i'd rather enjoy Sky Lynx on his own) and Legends class Wreck Gar.
I have dubbed the end result "Flame Reign"
