So, any recommendations for indie comics or one shot comics?

I am not a dedicated comics reader, but i like Graphic Novels or TPBs for long trips.
But sometimes i want something fresh or straight up out there to jog my brain a bit.
something i can read in one sitting and enjoy.

    so any suggestions?

If you like slasher movies then Hack/Slash is a must get. It's an awesome book put out by Devil's Due (their only good book) written by Tim Seeley. It's about a goth type girl named Cassie who grew up as a nerd and was picked on. Her mom became a slasher known as the Lunch Lady. Cassie grew up as a slasher hunter. She travels around the US hunting down random psychotic killers with her ogre friend, Vlad.

There were a bunch of one shots and then it became an ongoing series. Special guests have been Chucky and Dr West or Reanimator.

Well I'm kind of the same way, I don't like long winding that never end stories. I can't think of too many offhand but as cliche as it is now, Watchmen is still a classic and its a one and you're done type of deal, always good for a read or two.

Superman: Red Son (Can't say enough good things about this story)
Dark Knight Returns (Yes, old, but a standard and its a stand alone story)
Any Hellboy Trade (doesn't really matter which one you pick up)
The Golden Age (awesome fight ending)
Planetary/Batman: Night on Earth (helps if you are a Batman fan)
Hulk: The End (Giant mutant grasshopper cockroach things are cool)
Spiderman: Blue (the story will make you want to cry)
