hmm. Mine doesn't have that problem
I can't decide whether to do the hip mod or not. The hips seem strong, but I can't tell if they're really at breaking-point strong.
Also, I'm having the same problem with the front panel.
Worst of all though, on the deluxe-ish purple transformer he came with, I put his headmaster in, and when I went to take him out, the head popped off the balljoint and the connecting gimmick stayed in. I simply cannot get it out, and now it cannot transform. Hrm.
Otherwise, fun toy.
I did the hair dryer "fix" on the chest piece. Was able to "remove" the warp from the panel, but it still won't stay...
I don't have the figure yet so not familiar with how it tabs in. You might try a dab of clear nail polish on the tab itself.
Okay, so I went to Think Geek in Castleton today. They had 3 Trypticons. I bought one. Now what's all this about the hip joint spring thingie? Anyone got a youtube vid link you would recommend, which shows how to do the mod and why you should? Not that I couldn't find a video on how to do it on my own. I'd prefer to take referrals from someone on this board who's done the mod and can make a solid recommendation. There are a lot of bad vids out there too sometimes, and I wouldn't want to screw this up with such a high dollar piece.
Also visited TRU in Castleton and picked up the lone Six Shot they had. Left the Sky Shadow that was there. They also had at least 2 of each of whatever wave is Perceptor, Kup, etc. I found that wave in South Carolina in May and got what i needed from it. Anyone looking for that wave - go for it! I'm still hoping the dreaded wave 5 curse doesn't strike for Twin Twist...
All-in-all, an incredible haul for today. And now I am officially broke, indefinitely.
Good haul!, gives me hope that there are still Sixshots out there to be found!
Here's the guide that I followed. Good luck. Let me know if I can help.
Guide to Preventing Your Titans Return Trypticon From Breaking a Hip
I used that too. And you don't have to go to that length. One of my Trypticon's leg springs was so strong that it wouldn't even move.. the other was very difficult. I just cut it in half and added some cardboard and was done (used both halves, one for each leg) As long as you have good scissors, the right screwdriver and wire cutters, it shouldn't take long. I spent more time getting the tools needed
Bunch of stuff at Castleton TRY, including Trypticon, TLK Leaders Optimus and Megatron, Turbochanger Dragonstorm, and (if anyone's interested) Combined Force Ultra Bee and Menasor.
Anyone know of any place with wave 4 on the southside of Indy? Still trying to find Kup and Perceptor.
I think southport target has some. I'm waiting on the greenwood TRU to stock trypticon...
Southport does not. Or at least Target doesn't.
TRU did have a Trypticon yesterday, though.
Damn, I was just there yesterday...
Did they have the TLK leaders yet? Looking for Megs...
I was there last night around 7 and they had at least 2 leader Megs... maybe 3.
New legends Seaspray, cosmos, and others at Princeton walmart as of 7am today.
Thanks for the heads up. I was at Greenwood TRU when they opened this morning and picked up the last Leader Class TLK Megatron they had. It's a neat figure. Like the face mask gimmick. Not a fan of the gun on the leader class version compared to the simplicity of the voyager version. Leader Class has a lot of stuff on his back too. Glad to have the figure, but I like the Voyager Class TLK Megs a lot better.
Yessir, thank you! I snagged a leader Megs. Where did you find the voyager?
Meijer on Illinois Rd had Repugnus and Shuffler on the pegs. Also had movie leader prime down the aisle in the overflow section under some DC figures.
Finally just found Kup and Preceptor... at a Kroger of all places.
Can't complain, I guess!
