^ Nice find! I'd be totally OK with no Will Smith in it (let some new blood run the show) but would like to see Jeff Goldblum return for at least a cameo.

Gentlemen, make ready some tomatoes to throw.

You know, the reason it's taken so long to make a sequel to INDEPENDENCE DAY is because the sequel was going to be named PROCRASTINATION DAY...

...but they kept putting off the produ- OH GOD, FLYING TOMATOES.

Eh, I'd prefer a sequel to Battle: Los Angeles. Better main characters, better jumping off point for sequels and all in all, a great deal more fun.

Just saw the coverage on IGN. Yeah don't think I really care about these sequels. I liked the first movie and all, just really don't think it's something that needs 2 sequels.

ID4 was one of my favorite movies as a teen, but it hasn't aged well.

I´be been saying that I should get the book sequel that happens in the Middle eats, "War in the sand" or something like that, but I keep forgetting about it.

Unless it has Boomer's puppies, they can GTFO. I wanna see a whole pack of dogs outrun a blue-beam explosion.

I thought there were suppose to be sequels like from different battle grounds and such. I do we get to see them eventually.Or at least comics.

As for ID4: is still one of my favourite sci fi movies. Yeh, yeh, its all USA spirit and kinda cliche but its so fun to watch. And yes, the aerial battles are great! :D  I see Goldblum making a cameo or maybe a full role as the head leader researcher of the alien tech. ^^

I would watch it, I'm hoping that the jets will transform into mecha like in Macross (or Robotech to others).

I thought the original film wasn't too popular enough to get sequels.

It was the highest-grossing movie of 1996.

I consider Independence Day to essentially be a less dumber Michael Bay film.

ID4 was rather "meh" at best.

Not gonna' lie, I loved Independence Day and I'd definitely be up for sequels. :confused2

Heck, at the time it was released, it was the second-highest grossing movie of all time (not adjusted for inflation), behind only Jurassic Park. It wasn't considered perfect by any means, but it was pretty much the largest sci-fi/disaster/alien film at the time, in terms of sheer scope and spectacle. It was sort of like the Avatar of the mid '90's.

Actually, I agree with this 100%. Battle LA has a much more realistic feel + the emotional impact of the scenes and humor seems to flow a bit more naturally with the pace of the film.

I still find ID4 an entertaining movie these days. I'd be up for more.
