Wow, that gives me peace of mind that I might be able to get these guys for a price that's stomachable   And I see that Bruticus set selling now now that you've shown it here. I wouldn't be surprised if it reappeared on ebay for 2k hahaha.

Why is the Hasbro Defensor giftset so rare?

 

It was only released in the U.S, in the U.K we only got the Superion and Menasor boxset, and I believe Defensor was put out in smaller numbers for some reason. I do remember a collectors store in Toy Fare back in 1997 having a few for $350 each, so it was deemed rare back then.

 

I've seen just two genuine US Defensors giftsets listed on ebay in the last 5 years. None were AFA.

I'd really like to own an AFA one, even in poor condition, because then I'd have reassurance that all of the parts were originally packaged with the giftset.
