Died.

 

Maybe Sam works with NEST as an Ambassador for the Autobots, so he's never around to see her. He's traveling around the world speaking to nations that the Autobots are here to protect us and that they are our allies. They could show a scene where he is at his desk and he picks up a picture of Mikayla and smiles.

Kinda like that "Soldier goes to fight in the way, says goodbye to his girlfriend because he's not going to be able to see her and they break up" sort of thing. I wouldn't mind that at all. My opinion has changed a bit since this news was announced, as long as they keep the her in the franchse and don't end up not even acknowledging she ever existed in the movies at all, I'm perfectly fine with it. Maybe she'll be back for Transformers 4, hopefully her attitude will improve.

Man I love the humor of the first movie with Ratchet   works perfectly too.

 

While I doubt they will go this route, has it ever been said that the character Mikaela won't be in the next movie? While not always done, sometimes a different actor/actress steps in to play an established character in a sequal (Back to the Future off hand comes to mind).

 

Okay, so she doesn't actually make an appearance in the film, but as a running gag, Sam keeps getting angry phone calls from her throughout the film. Finally he decides, fuck it, can't live like this.

And then to sweeten the deal, some new chick shows up for Bay's perv-cam to leer at.

 

Have her be a Pretender , the WHOLE time...
Then blow it up.

Mention the break up at the beginning of the film, then continue like she never existed.

 

Ratchet says "New component, eh, Sam?" Sam facepalms and says "You wouldn't understand. You've only loved Arcee for 5 seconds"

Seriously, She breaks up with Sam, due to the rigors of being his girlfriend.

 

I'm just saying that if it's one of the aspects of film making that he's not good at then why go to one of your weak points just to fit the summer action movie formula? Every director has some aspect of film making that they just aren't very good at so avoid the weak areas and concentrate on the areas that you are really good at.

I mean honestly if you had a choice between a Micheal Bay car chase or a romantic scene which one would you rather see? Plenty of bad romantic comedies out there if we want bad romance so the guy should be out there pushing the boundaries of movie stunts instead.

 

Mikaela Banes moved to Devil's Kettle, MN where she became a popular cheerleader, befriended a Plain Jane, and started eating boys as a result of a botched devil sacrifice.

I don't fault the character for the problems of the actress. So I don't really have any dislike for the Mikaela character.

Saying that, I'd prefer that she died due to assassination by Decepticons so that she can at least push the plot forward and add a sense of urgency to the war.

 

Ratchet: *sniff sniff* Sam, your new friend, she does not smell the same as your old one. What was the phrase you used?

Sam: Vanilla and daddy issues?

Ratchet: That's right.

 

She dies in a car when said car transforms into a Decepticon.

 

It may be a cliched solution, but her getting killed off between movies is probably the best way. I mean, if the Decepticons are openly attacking people as reported, then it would make sense that they would go after the girlfriend of the kid whose contributed to two major defeats.

 

She dies with epic explosions!  

 

Show her a$$ one more good time, then blow it up! Same goes apesh*t and blows the living crap out of decepticons!
