okay, going to winnepeg in a few weeks and wondering if there are any in-store casting/molding kits there that i could use to re-create parts or possibly even another tf for gestalt purposes.

Some hobby shops, and I think Hobby Lobby, carry the alumalite casting kit, that is about the best you are going to find.

You are better off ordering trial kits from Smoothon. They have all kinds of hardness types of resin to match the types of plastics used at factory. And they also have different silicon molds. For transformer parts, I recommend Task 3 (shore hardness 80 to 85) which is very strong and hard resin when cured and Mold Max 15T for your silicon molding material. It is soft and flexiable silincon when curred and will stretch a bit to allow you to get those tricky pieces out of the molds. I have been useing Smoothon products both proffessionally and personally for about 3 years now.
