Tetris is released once again, this time via PSN.

I've tried just about every version released in the past 20 years or so, will this new iteration of the quintessential puzzle game be worthwile?

Besides a multiplayer mode, 5.1 surround and HD graphics, this version will come with a slew of game modes.

Will you be getting it? I know that I still can't get enough of Tetris, even after all these years.

I bought it last week. I thought it had been out for a month or two?

It's trophies are almost all multiplayer based, which is bad considering no-one on my friends list is likely to pick it up :(

The new game modes aren't as exciting as the descriptions make them out to be either but it certainly is pretty.

At $10, I can easily pass on this. With so many other cheaper, and much better, puzzle games on the PSN, I just can't justify dropping a Hamilton on Tetris.

Did not know that, my bad.

What I do like about this new Tetris is that it has ingame challenges like Halo, for example spend 90 minutes playing, or get 15 Tetris' in one game etc etc So it's quite good at keeping you interested after the initial novetly has worn off.

Does the new version at least have the classic Russian music in it?

My favorite version of the game is still the Tengen one, if only because it had a mode that no other version that I'm aware of has ever had: two player cooperative.

I hate my DS version for that very reason. Can't Nintendo do a 1st party title without having Mario shoved down our throats? I loves me some Mario, but not when I'm playing behind the Iron Curtain :mad

I'm still playing GB Tetris, proper music and saves me the effort of turning off all the pussy play aids that the modern versions have.

This right here. I'm keeping my GBA around to play my old games and I have been known to play nothing but tetris for months at a time. When you get the urge there is only one way to satisfy it.

Go work at UPS and load trucks for a year. It's basically manual Tetris. After a year there, you'll never want to play Tetris again. heh
