I am depressed. I loved Soundgarden and CC was one of the best rock vocalists ever. Such a punch in the nuts this morning.

    Eff this shite.

I was honored to have seen Soundgarden in Jacksonville at the end of April. They were a force of nature for sure and had one of the best sets of the festival that weekend.

    Godspeed, Chris.

I'm grateful I got to see Chris Cornell in concert 10 years ago. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen. I don't usually react when a celebrity dies but this one stings a little.

Very sad, another great loss to the music world of another iconic figurehead.

Guess it's now been confirmed that it was indeed suicide. Such a shame.

I thought I heard something on the radio relating to Cornell about a tribute, MOTHERF--KER!!!!

Black Hole Sun is in my top 3 all-time favorite songs, the other 2 being Cult Of Personality and Dire Straits' "Money For Nothing".

    RIP Chris. :cry

This I found on DeviantArt, which I also posted in the MLP thread as a tribute to Cornell.

I don't usually care when a celebrity dies because I didn't know the person. But for me, a 42 year old guy who experienced the whole Seattle sound/grunge movement this one kinda affects me. Soundgarden was my favorite of the whole scene. They just kicked ass and Cornell's voice could shred. It just baffles me that he would take his own life.

R74... I believe he was 52... but either way, suicide is such a horrible decision to choose. Hopefully, he will finally have some peace now. :rip

I was a teenager during the height of the Seattle music scene, it's sad to think we have lost the singers of 3 of the big 4 Seattle bands (Nirvana, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains). I've been enjoying their music since the Louder Than Love days. A true loss to the music community.

The art installation The Soundgarden which the band took their name from is right next to my wife's work so she walked past and left some flowers along with many others. The art piece is actually located on a closed government campus but they allowed the public to come and pay tribute.
