If I can't get a hold of the FE voyager, I'll just wait for the inevitable new-mold RID deluxe (it's bound to happen....). These "Powerizers" are a major flop imo.
I'm glad I was recently able to procure a FE version, because I'm just not feeling this figure at all. I hate the back kibble. I hate the gun. I hate the lack of red paint on the torso...I wish I didn't, but I really hate what I'm seeing in this figure. This just looks bad. Probably because they want this new "Powerizer" thing to be a line wide gimmick with all the Voyagers. Which really makes me wonder what a second Bulkhead is going to end up looking like.
The only thing I don't like about it is the back panels. They could have made them fold. It isn't even a bad toy at all however, it surely doesn't deserve the hate.
Am I the only person who likes this more than the FE version? It looks a LOT more sturdy, as it doesn't appear to use that "false chest" Transformation. I just REALLY don't like that Transformation because the false chest pieces look flimsy as all hell. I looked at the toy in package and each copy had stress marks on those parts already. No thank you. The only problem I have with this is that the thighs look really thin. Prime needs to make friends with an Autobot who turns into a treadmill.
You know, if it did that, I probably would be more forgiving. Originally, I had thought the back kibble was the result of a battery pack. But then I realized the batteries are in the gun. So there really is no excuse for why his transformation comes off as looking so cheap. That also makes me question the idea behind the translucent arms, cause I had thought the idea was that the light piped through the arm into the gun. But it's actually the other way round...Why? What sense does that make? Most gimmicks, good or bad, I can usually understand the idea of the play value behind it. But this one just has me kind of baffled. I don't see the point behind this. It feels like a failed toy experiment that should have been thrown out, but somehow got the green light and went through to production.
That fugly back kibble, the clear parts, the stupid light up gun... Man, Hasbro, the FE was perfect. You went and broke what didn't need fixing.
That looks sort of terrible compared to the FE one. I'm not sure if I'll get a Prime Optimus, but if I do, it'll definitely be FE.
Oh my god I love it!! But yeah, I feel the same way. Hopefully BBTS will get their preorders in soon so I don't hafta wait much longer for a GOOD version of Optimus.
My goodness. The backpack doesn't bother me quite as much as the translucent forearms and the ridiculously bad-looking grey chest.
After doing a side by side with FE prime, I definitely prefer FE prime over the main release. The mainline prime is OK, but I like how the blue on the cab ties the front and back better in vehicle mode. As for robot mode... yeah that back kibble.
I'll skip both the FE and this one. I want Maskless Prime Optimus darnit! But I do like how much better the alt mode is on this one. The FE has those weird thigs showing and that ugly stylized grill. No-cheating transformation is a plus too.
Doesn't look as bad as I was thinking, however it's not as good looking as the First Edition.. Still a buy from me.. Now hurry up with the release!!
This thing makes the First Edition look like a masterpiece by comparison... and that's pretty sad considering how 'meh' the FE is. Still like the packaging, though
