Nice, but I really hope there's a Hasbro version in the future.

Boy, the more I look at that Bumblebee, the less I like it. The head sculpt is definitely "off," the mix of painted gold and unpainted yellow clashes, and he's really not that much smaller than the deluxe. Honestly, if I felt the need for a smaller Bumblebee, I think I would rather just go with the Activator. It's a shame, I had hopes for this figure.

EDIT: In fact, looking at it more, it was enough to make me cancel my pre-order. I think I'm happy enough with the Animated Bumblebees I already have.

Man that BB is so close yet so far. The horns are too long and at a weird angle, the vehicle mode is mishapen and ugly, and he's really not anymore accurate than the Deluxe, which is really damn accurate to the screen model already.

I like how he's smaller and has better legs/no back kibble. I can live with the blue windows and the smaller alt mode profile, but ugh those sub guns are doing nothing. And that paint just looks bad when you see how it clashes with the other yellow plastic.

Yeah, the fact that the metallic paint doesn't carry over to the legs are just plain bad :(  Hope Hasbro releases this state side

I just keep thinking he's gonna be a GPS nightmare later on in life, but the imo the blue sb parts do not make him worth another purchase. I'll stick with the I'm happy with my current animated bumblebee please

It's hard to understand the thinking behind this.

Sure, it's shorter than the Deluxe, but less than a head shorter. And the accessory. Who wants that? Paying voyager price for a small deluxe is a ridiculous proposition to begin with, and paying imported prices on top of that makes it all the more hard to swallow.

The figure itself is alright, but you really want it to be a lot better than merely alright. I'd be a lot more open to this if they'd come up with a smaller accessory and sold it as a deluxe. Add to that the uncertainty of using gold plastic.

The end result is a product that's just a little hard to justify.

It'd be a lot easier if it were cast in yellow plastic as Hasbro intended...and sold as a Voyager in the states. But even then it's hard to ignore the visual flaws, but the figure itself looks fun. That's something.

As it stands, I'm a lot less upset that this toy will never be released outside Japan. Doesn't mean I wouldn't buy him in a heartbeat in Hasbro colors though. :)

I might pick this guy up if I see him in person like at a convention, but for now holding out for a Hasbro release with a more show accurate paint scheme(I like the gold, but want a more normal version for the shelf), seeing how this is BB & a new mold I say this is high up on thier list of Animated to get out.

so a voyager toy that is smaller than the deluxe version. how odd & weird.

I'm not a fan of all those armor parts the toy comes with.

I was never a fan of the animated bumblebee toy design. in either mode.
