I know in the movie Galvatron has a differet voice acotr than megatron but then had a completely diifernt voice from season 3 onward. Somebody told me in season three the person who voiced megatron voiced galvatron except in a different tone of voice is this is true galvatron still has the same voice basically when he was megatron

Yes, both are voiced by Frank Welker.

I believe Leonard Nimoy voiced Galvy in the Movie. But as was said above Welker voiced them both in the G1 Series.

They only did it because I don't think they could've paid Nimoy to remain on set plus I read somewhere that he wasn't too thrilled with the movie so they used Frank Welker after the film.

I swear Frank Welker could give Mel Blanc a run for his money.

In the movie, he was voiced by Leonard "Spock" Nimoy who had a very baritone-like voice. I think due to his busy schedule , he couldn't reprise the role. in the series. So, they got Frank Welker as well as a plot device for his high-pitched voice.

Perhaps Mel Blanc could have given Frank Welker a run for his money.

perhaps after writing a Blanc check, Welker ran out of money

    Much as I adore Welker's work...nope.

    Welker:
    Frank Welker

    Blanc:
    Mel Blanc

Blanc has over 400 more credits to his career.

From what I read (and I'm sure someone will eagerly jump in to correct me if I'm wrong) Welker was already recording early voices for series three Galvatron while the movie was in production and Nimoy didn't want to do such a screechy voice as Welker did so the movie people let him do what he wanted for Galvatron. Much prefer Nimoy's version.

I've heard the same thing. The lack of concern was probably due to the plasma bath incident, which could (and did) serve as a catch-all excuse for any changes in tone, speech patterns, and behavior. :)

I know I prefer Nimoy's Galvatron to Welker's, but then I don't think that's Welker's fault - my issues with Season 3 Galvatron stem more from the way he was written. Had the character retained more vestiges of the bad@$$ that he was in the movie, I'm pretty sure Welker would have been able to do better with him.

Am I the only one who disliked Nimoy's voice? It made Galvatron sound boring and I don't think it suited the character in the film they only did it because they wanted big name actors so they can better advertise the movie. Welker wasn't too bad though it made me laugh at how comical it sounded at times but the voice did get on my nerves at times

S3 was well into production (Dark Awakening was in production when the movie hit the theatres) and Welker had been doing Galvatron for some time. Nimoy was only cast for name value like so many of the other movie characters; as mentioned he was concerned with doing Welkers Galvatron but was instead encouraged to do the part as he saw fit.

While I think most of us prefer Nimoys colder condescending Galvatron, I'm sure Welker could've done the same had he been directed to. However, I'm not sure said voice would've worked as well for insane Galvatron.

This. The way the voice turned out was likely due to the voice director Wally Burr, not Welker. Burr is famous (infamous?) for pushing the TF voice cast to get just the voice styles he wanted for certain characters, and Galvatron could be just another example.

I remember hearing that Welker has said that if he had known ahead of time the direction that Nimoy was going to go with the voice that he would have followed suit to keep the continuity.

But I agree that the gravely Nimoy Galvatron just wouldn't have fit the crazy nut-job he became in S3.

I'd have been happy had Welker just used his Megatron voice for Galvatron.
