I'm pretty sure if starscream was anyone, it would be tarantulas. he was always scheming and planning to overthrow megatron. just like starscream.

 

Rhinox being like Ratchet is a bit of a stretch, he's more Wheeljack crossed with Ironhide. But Tigatron as Prowl? How's about a little hell no. Prowl was a strategist, a logic-drived being and a bit of a prick. Tigatron was a lover of nature, a gentle soul and distinctly not a prick. Tigatron's more like Hound, really.

 

I see similarities between characters (i.e. Starscream - Terrorsaur), but I also feel Beast Wars really stands on its own as far as characters. Cheetor =/= Bumblebee for me. Cheetor is like Cheetor. The most similarities I see to G1 characters is in the leaders, Optimus Primal and Megatron. For the most part though I feel these are stand alone characters.

 

The BW characters are so unique and interesting compared to G1 characters that I don't compare the two groups, not even both Megatrons.

 

But he WASN'T trying to overthrow Megatron. He had his own agenda, and well at times he wanted Megatron dead, he never showed much interest in taking over the Predacons. His personality was also completely different. He was mad scientist, and a disturbing cannibalistic glutton.

Terrorsaur, was a smug raspy voiced flyer who wanted to command the Predacons. He was a near perfect transplant of Starscream, it's also why he was far less interesting then others, even amongst the less developed characters (Tigatron, Scorponok, Airazor) All of whom were at least clearly there own characters.

 

Hahah, Scorponok was such a stooge.  

 

Generally, if you're making comparisons between Beast Wars characters and those from G1, you're forcing it.

Beast Wars in my personal opinion sure it might be a side story or whatever but still just use your freakin imagination about the transformers. Cheetor or Rats or whoever was like Bumblebee in a way due to personality or how they looked in color or whatever. Same thing with the bad guys in Beast Wars. There was one or two that were just like Starscream and Soundwave.

The Soundwave you mentioned is not the same Soundwave from G1.This is a different character with just the name taken from the G1 character.

I said that in the first Beast Wars show or that other Beast Wars show there was a character that was called Soundwave and was a bat or whatever. I am serious about that. Also Starscream was in Beast Wars as an animal transformer last time I checked even though I havent seen either of the 2 Beast Wars shows in ages.

I know for a damn fact there was a Soundwave and Starscream in those 2 shows.

 

No you didn't miss out on something. This Soundwave who has the altmodes of a bat and a alligator is not the same G1 character we know a lot more. You can look it up a TFWiki.com or The Beast Wars Sourcebook if you have a copy.

Thanks for clarifying. I knew the toy/comic character, but I thought you were arguing he WAS the same character.

 

I think the only ones you can compare... stretching it... would be Optimus and Megatron being leaders of their teams, Cheetor being the "yellow kid friendly character" and that's all, all the others have their own roles (as for me Rhinox is sort of a mix of Ironhide and Ratchet, but with many things less and many things more... and saying that it's stretching it   )
