With all of these c-joint system weapons post on every figure coming out, every new Generations and DOTM have atleast one point. I don't want to buy the HA figures or other figures just for the weapons to attach to my Classics collection. I believe that a good weapons pack of c-joint style weapons would sell extremely well.

Do you believe there would be enough of a demand for this style of product?

Hell yeah. Back in the day, GIJoes had extra weapon packs you could get through the club store, so I'm hoping that the clip weapons go that way as well.

GiJoe had weapon packs that set on shelves for years. They won't repeat that mistake.

Because of the GIJoe accessory packs I have always wanted Transformer accessory packs.

I'd love to see some weapon packs. Especially if they were a mixture of clip and Mechtech weapons. I'd even buy a six pack of just repaints of Roadbuster's chainsaw weapon (probably even multiple copies of said pack, lol).

Problem is, I really don't think Hasbro would do them. As much as we fans would eat them up, I'm not so sure Hasbro would consider them a good enough idea to produce and sell.

I'd love that. But I want additional weapons with 3mm and 5mm pegs too. And transformable Weapons! :)

I like the idea of including all of the weapons. 3mm, 5mm pegs, clip system, and some mech tech. I would take just repaints of older weapons, they don't even have to be new molds.

I also forgot to explain that the idea came from me looking at the new DOTM Jolt. I am holding off on jolt because I believe the the clip system bar that pop out of his arms are going to be for a later version which will have his whips attach to those points. Atleast, for me that makes logical sense.

I'd also like to see hand weapons, stands, etc. for the HA humans. But maybe they'd be too small and Hasbro won't make them because of safety reasons...

I only ever saw the retail ones around my hometown a few times, then they were sold out.
They had a redemption system that you could send in points to get figures, vehicles and weapon packs. I still have about 100 little guns in a bin from that system.

If Hasbro made them site exclusives, they wouldn't have to make them in retail numbers, and would probably be able to move most if not all of them.

Weapons accessory pack would be ideal. What I would really like to see Hasbro do is have a box set of target masters in different colors.

Weapons would be cool because while some figure has been lucky enough to get some cool weapons other figures have come up a bit short on weaponry.

Perhaps a mix if the clip on, pistols, rifles, and melee weapons so you could pick what sort of weapons you want for your Transformer.

I guess the tricky bit is how to sell those weapons where Hasbro could make a profit with it. But if Lego can make a profit by offering individual bricks on their website then perhaps there is some creative way for Hasbro to do it without the risk of shelf warming weapon packs.

Oh and the reason I don't think it worked well for GI Joe is because every GI Joe came loaded with cool guns so after a few figures you had a ton of cool weapons.

I don't think it would work as a retail product for Hasbro. Even if it would work, how would it be sold? A whole new pricepoint is unlikely.

Would it work as an HTS/other online exclusive... it could... but there are problems:
1.) Maybe it could work, maybe it could be profitable. But if you're Hasbro...why do it? It's a risk and it would take some time & resources away from development of some other transformer that's less of a risk and almost assuredly would be more profitable.

2.) There's potentially the logistical issue of already existing weapons being on sprues for the figures they come with and can't be 'gated off'

So I think the viable way to do it is as store exclusives, but not just a weapons back, but a transformer toy packed with a bunch of extra weapons. The figure could be packed in robot mode with a bunch of weapons circling him in the bubble to show off all the goodies.

This maintains the appeal of a figure and a 'complete play pattern' in 1 package. Also gets around the issue of it being risky and less profitable than some other whole Transformer. Also solves the problem of a pricepoint. Left with the isse of gating off weapons from previous toys.

Would be a "Classics+" fan dream to see a store exclusive assortment of Windcharger, Rumble, and Frenzy each packed with a some extra weapons and sold for ~$10.

But since those molds do have relatively few clip-on points and maybe a bit small for some of the clip-weapons... maybe repaints of Darkmount/Skullgrin and Warpath would work better. Lots of places to clip on, would look reasonable even with Recon Ironhide's larger weapons and could market them as Autobot/Decepticon artillery specialists since they also both have 'tank' modes.

They used to shelfwarm a lot. The TG&Y's were full of them. I personally liked them. I think it would be a neat feature for the kids. It allows you to buy a cheaper weapons pack to add more functionality to existing transformers you own. But again that may work against it because to the sales executives might think that it would hurt toy sales. Why buy a bot with a gun you like when you can just buy a weapon set.

If they were Targetmasters it could work as a normal Hasbro retail product. Maybe blindpacked with colors matching current MechTech toys?
