I loved the original Night Raven as a kid. In fact, I still have mine and it is still one of my favorite toys of all time. I was foaming at the mouth with excitement when I heard they were making the Raven for the ROC movie. I thought they would use the original mold. I was less excited when I saw the final product and water was thrown on what was left of the flames when I saw the price tag. I was Christmas shopping and saw a Wal-Mart had it on sale for 28.00. I happened to have a 10.00 gift cards, so 18.00 was a good price. I brought it home and put it together and on the display shelf it went. The more I looked at it, the more ideas I had to improve it. So what started as a way to improve the air intakes ended with this. This is still a work in progress. I have to add the final coat of paint and hand paint several details. I am also going to add most of the decals that came with it. So, I modded the intakes, removed the handle, painted matte back, and added an internal missile bay. I also didn't like the way the rear wheels didn't retract into the body, so I cut away sections. I also added 2 covers that go over the wheels when retraced so they can't be seen. The lights are going to become landing lights on the wheels. They have not been attacted yet. They electronics still work. The 2 pieces have been glued together, so there is no cocking action anymore. While waiting for glue to dry I thought the Raven needed a specialist missile munitions handler for its 2 World Ender Bio-Nuclear Missiles. The Munitions Viper was born. The most highly trained munitions handler in Cobra. Selected from only the best and then trained exclusively on the World Ender, a combination biological and nuclear device. It releases a radioactive virus that spreads through the air and is to small to be blocked by convientional filters. It most resembles the Ebola virus and causes victions to "bleed out". Cobra plans to use this to bring nations to their knees. As always, let me know what you think and I will add pictures when the project is finished.
The rear wheels didnt fold in? Weak! However I like how you fixed it - definitely an improvement. We're in agreement tho; the first Nightraven was the coolest one. ~Z
Looks awesome. Removing that stupid handle was a great idea. Love the missle rack replacement. The original Raven's way cooler, but this one reminds me of Firefox more, which I also like. Too bad the wheels don't roll, maybe you can fix that too. Then it can be towed from the hangar
