    Howdy,

Like many people, I was truly blown away with the IDW Last Stand of the Wreckers series - particularly for a guy like me who has a bit of a thing for obscure transformers (yeah! Jackpot and Turbofire made small cameos!)

After reading the first few issues, I knew I wanted to try my hand at a Ironfist. Thus I ordered a Crossovers Captain America - figuring its a humvee, and so was the g2 ironfirst.

Of course, when it arrived, I was a bit surprized at how big it was. and got around to thinking "this is impactors. he just needs a head."

Impactors IDW head seems to have a roman helmet feel to it - a bit like cybertron vector prime. I shaved down the plastic a bit on either side of the head, as well as around the edges of the chest cavity to allow the head to pop up and down without scratching the paint. A little bit of glue, and vola! his head was ready.

For his harpoon hand, I simply removed the fist, and used the hose pipe part of a knock of Hot Spot. While I would have liked to have left the harpoon a little longer, I had to cut it short to accommodate his alt mode.

The painting was relatively simple - I used citadel colours - vomit brown (charming name) and warlock purple for most of his body. The white areas are valejo silvergrey and black glossy for the windows, feed and rear bumper. still needs a bit of touching up to some parts. a few glarring problems in the photos.

I'm quite happy with how hes shaped up so far. i think i will repaint his central chest purple. I had toyed with the idea of adopting a powermaster prime cannon (one of the black ones) to serve as his shoulder cannon. Although I'm not sure. another part of me wonders if I should paint up the captain america shield and vector primes sword to make him a bit more roman warrior-ish.

Any suggestions? let me know what you think :)

    Thanks for looking

Cap mold proves its versatility, yet again!

The Vector-Prime noggin' really works nicely too!

Beat me to the punch! Looks good!

Mine's taking more time and trouble than I thought.

What did you use for the not-hand arm?

This looks really cool; certainly, it's one of my favorite Impactors to date :thumb

The arms look to be the same. As for the appendage that's not the robot hand, from the original post:

    I hope this helps :thumb

Thanks everyone, glad you like him. Still have to repaint the chest.

He was fun to do, few bits that were a bit hard, but ultimately i think he works. Once I get him finished up, he can take his position beside Springer and the custom Roadbuster Nellie131 made for me. I think I might have to try and get the full wrecker team :p

I think the vector head really works too. Its a shame I couldn't factor in a ball joint or at least make his head turn. I need to get myself some proper tools. Can't wait to see your version :)

Thanks man, I loved your Custom Ironhide using this mold. Its brilliant!!

    Thanks for looking everyone!
