Hey everyone! I super hyped to DotM on July, but I have a bit of a dillemma... Should I go to see the film in IMAX or in 3D? I really can't decide:
I mostly want to see the film in IMAX, but I'm afraid that the screen will be too big to focus on it all (never been to an IMAX before). I originally wasn't planning on seeing the film in 3D, but I heard that seeing the TFs transform in 3D will be pretty awesome. What should I do??

IMAX. They have extended scenes, a screen which supports life-size transformers and you won't come out with a headache at the end. Your johnson might ache though after having a wrencher the whole way through...

Not sure what you should do (never been an IMAX either, and I'm not a fan of this 3D trend lately). If I see the movie at all in theaters, it'll be good old 2D at a normal theater. That is, assuming it isn't one of those 3D-only movies. If that's the case I'll be skipping the theatrical release entirely, and waiting till it get's released on DVD to finally see it.

If it's an option, I'm doing IMAX 3D. But if not, I'm going to see it both ways eventually. It was filmed in 3D and there's definitely a few scenes that are aimed at the 3D, so it doesn't make sense to see it in 2D if you don't have any problems with viewing 3D; and as was said before, the IMAX has life-size Transformers, usually has extended scenes or added scenes (sometimes both). Not being able to focus on everything is a curse of any movie screen; just focus on what's obviously the main focal point and you'll be fine. Even in the Transformers movies, it's rare to have more than one focal point.

Unless your theater has a horribly out of date IMAX, the film is being shown in IMAX 3D. Take note though, unlike ROTF nothing in DOTM was shot with IMAX cameras, so the main benefit will just be a larger, clearer screen. Also, IMAX 3D is a safe bet as oftentimes regular theaters' 3D projectors aren't the highest quality: I saw Toy Story 3 in IMAX 3D and it was crystal clear; I saw it again in a regular theater in 3D and it definitely was nowhere near as high quality (in terms of 3D effect and image quality).

I went to see something in Imax. It feels akward to me all the screens all around you, make you feel kind of sick. While with a movie you can just stare at one screen.

    My theather doesn't have IMAX.

    Which Means: DAMN'IT!

But 3D will suffice, after all, nothing beats seeing GIANT FREAKING ROBOTS in 3D.

IMAX or simply 2D. I HATE 3D movies!!! What a worthless waste of time and money.

I just went and saw Pirates 4, and was really excited because at the end of April my local movie theater about 15 minutes away just put in an imax theater, so I was going to go see it in that. (my 1 and only imax experience was tf2 back in 09) however, they only hate IMAX 3D. i said eff it, and saw it in regular 2D.

    Or . . .

You could do the obvious and go to both. Go see it in Imax one day and then maybe two weeks later or something go see it in 3D when you have nothing else to do. I'll probably be seeing it in 3 or 2D, as I'm not aware of there being an Imax near me.

Why would anyone NOT see this in IMAX 3D? That was the whole point. It's supposed to surpass Avatar, at least visually.

    This.

Though, if I go to see DOTM and if the theater I go to has it in 3D, then I will at least give it a shot.

This, no one ever understands when I try to explain but I'm gonna try again, just for DOTM. But I want to see 3d too, at midnight I will probably just see 2d and the next day 3d
