At least at my local IMAX it does.

I know this probably doesn't affect even a small percentage of posters, but I just assumed TF would be shown on IMAX, after Matrix 3, LoTR 2 & 3, Superman Returns, and 300 (just to name a few) were shown. But nope, it's getting prepared for Harry Potter, which will certainly make a lot of money, but seems like a real waste of IMAX screen time compared to Transformers.

    Oh, well.

As a big HP fan, I'm excited that the 5th movie is not only going to be an Imax film, but also have around 20 minutes of 3D in it. Yet at the same time, I'm saddend, because there isn't an Imax theater within a reasonable amount of distance to go see the movie at, let alone one that will be playing the 3D section of it.

Same here...though unfortunately I honestly can't see that happening. I never quite understood what the whole Harry Potter appeal is, but thats just me.

Since they don't count IMAX showings with the Domestic Box Office total i'm glad it's not on it. I always felt that although movies look cool on IMAX that it hurts the Domestic totals like it did for example with Superman Returns. IMO

Thanks for the heads-up, Ravenxl7...I had no idea OotP was going to employ 3D. I just hope it's better executed than in Superman Returns where it was more of a distraction than anything else.

I'm still trying to figure why there are so many TF posters who feel threatened by HP and have overwhelming desire to slag it in this forum. Why isn't anyone hoping that TF is going to blow The Simpsons Movie out of the water? Or that it'll outpace Ratatouille? I've read a couple of posts referring to Harry as the Pride Week poster boy, but I don't believe anyone's called Captain Jack's or Puss 'n' Boots's personal preferences into question.

TF is cool, but it's not the only game in town. Just live and let live.

Agreed. I was totally anti-Harry Potter just because I was tired of everyone raving about it. Then I picked up my friend's copy of Goblet of Fire one day and began reading.....

....my world was never the same. It makes me a little sad that Transformers is coming out now, because it really kills the enormous excitement I would have had for the new Die Hard and Harry Potter movies.

Don't bash it if you haven't read all of the books.

    Not a Harry fan......

    That stinks!:mad

In my opinion, Harry Potter is not a suitable role model.

I haven't read the books or seen the movies, but the trailers make it seem like he's evil.

And a friend who did see the movie confirmed my opinion.

So, I'm not sure the world should be getting obsessed with an evil "whatever-he-is," because he sure isn't one of the good guys.

And IMAX movies are usually chosen because they have special effects.

Which has more effects, HP or Transformers?

It would be cool to see Transformers in IMAX 3D.

Do you think they could do that?

are you serious? Tell me your not, because this is just mind numbing that someone would try to pass this off.

I think Harry Potter will do well (I like the books, not so much the movie) but I seriously think that Transformers will outdo Harry...

There are WAY too many Transformers fans who will see the movie over and over and over again just to catch what they missed last time.

    What do you all think?
