red cross has it trademarked
Did Red Cross come out and say diBonaventures/Paramount/Hasbro Studios was using it without permission?
Because I'm sure a little money could make it happen if thats what Bay wanted. (At least in the movie, anyway. Why get permission for a paint app you can cut?)
I feel that it's generally wrong for a soldier to impersonation a healer.
If he's a field medic, he's not impersonating anyone.
The red cross really doesn't like anyone using their symbols for anything remotely violent.
Same reason Ratchet never has them anymore.
I'm aware of the history with Ratchet.
Just seems odd to me that millions of dollars would get put into TLK production when Transformers, as a brand, has run into the Red Cross trademark issue if they hadn't already gotten a go-ahead. I'm not saying that a trailer means we'll see it in the movie (Primus knows that doesn't always happen) but relative chump change from a movie budget (which would be more than IDW/Hasbro could/would do for a comic book or toy) could persuade the Red Cross to allow use in the movie, despite the violence.
Either way, it's an interesting situation. I got curious and looked up the American Red Cross on Wikipedia and they apparently have yearly revenue in the billions? Dang. Maybe they don't want persuasion money.
When did that happen?
The Red Cross calls me practically every week to 'schedule my next blood donation'...when they call this week, I'll express my displeasure with this situation in the strongest possible terms. I'm sure that will do it.
I used the word "if."
Because I haven't seen the movie yet. Just like you haven't. We don't know if he's impersonating anyone either.
I can't wait to get Hound! I only just got Optimus today.
I don't understand why this is a problem because I thought that when ratchet came out, the autobot symbol over the red cross wasn't a problem.
Guys theres a great video on him showing all the details! Gets me even more excited
Just a quick reminder the reviewer's copy is probably a test shot, and it's best to not expect Hound to be released with those red cross markings at this point
The more I see if this figure the more psyched I get. The only thing I still don't like are the feet. He will definitely be using ApE Hound's much more impressive loadout though. It doesn't even look like he'll be using these guns in the movie.
Based on the latest trailer, it looks like they pulled the red cross from him in the film as well. The cross is still slightly visible, but it's blacked out now.
Good. I wounder in The American Red Cross made them pull the red crosses or if they were getting back lash from some where for putting red crosses of a non-medical vehicle?
Am I the only one who thinks his feet are just awful?
No, I also think they look bad.
Definitely sticking with the AoE version.
Apparently it's not PC. So I will put my own stickers on
I'm going with the Red Cross making them pull it.
