So since they're not against the idea of using non animated molds for animated characters what molds could potentially be used for the constructions?

None. The only one who even could be half-decent is a Cybertron Quickmix redeco as Mixmaster but the alt. modes of Scrapper and Dirt Boss simply don't have proper size figures to go with that - because Scrapper has to be TALLER than Mixmaster and the only forklift transformer is ROTF Dirt Boss who by being a mainline movie toy was thus off limits anyway.

would have loved the Beast Wars Animated as a Botcon set. and maybe split the "De-Animated" stuff up into a figure subscription set?

It's the idea that they're "G1-ified" versions of Animated characters.

Nope. Licensed figures couldn't be used. So any of the cars, basically. Dirt Boss would have been fair game.

standing up? pegging chest? give me a break, nitpicks. those could be easily fixed, as is the case with many repaints/retools in the past

But they shouldn't have to, and even then the jet mode's a complete mess in both form and function. Fixing a figure is never an excuse. Sorry; RID is infinitely better from an objective standpoint.

Can someone else back my up on this?

You're insane, friend. The other mold is better detailed, better proprotioned and doesn't look made of cheap plastic. Still, if your point is that simpler and cartoony would work better for Sari, maybe you have a point but...eh...

I own both. It's just no contest. The Generations Windblade toy is a floppy mess. Doesn't matter whether you're okay with the proportions or not.

I never had problems with her alt mode or her upper body, but I can confirm that her legs are cancer. RiDblade is better in every way except for wrist articulation and paint, both of which are way easier to fix than what is wrong with the Thrilling 30 version. But at least it isn't the RiD Legion figure.

Even assuming "A" wasn't a real problem, I'm sure that most 3Ps know that to make better figures would be much costlier to produce, and they probably wouldn't be able to sell for any more money, much less be able to move as many units, than Impossible Toys' efforts.

    It's pretty much a losing proposition all-around.

Rid windblade is the better mold, tav windblade being the best version. As for 3p animated figures, dare I say Mmc Titanika would probably be the closest to being inspired by the animated version of a character though it doesn't really have the animated styling

Mech Ideas made Bluster and Trench, which so far is the only time any 3P has attempted and actually released Animated Transformers in the Animated style.

floppy? What does that have to with the actual design? Nothing. It can be fixed.

The joints. Design means nothing if you can't pose her properly (i.e. she falls over at the slightest nudge).

But design wise, the face looks nothing like the comic even with the Takara paint job. There's far too much black on the Hasbro version and the chest isn't accurate in the slightest.

Last I checked, they toy came out before she appeared in the comics. If anything, IDW went with their own style, not toy accuracy.

Actually this was a rare exception where the comic design came first I think, being the first fan created character and all.

Created to be a toy? No?

In any case, we're talking about her as a mold for Sari. I don't give a crap if her face or chest aren't accurate.
