    Ebay:
After trying to convince myself that I didn't want one, the wife was making comments the other day about how she'd like to have one. While this may not be a big deal to some, the fact that a new videogame console was being welcomed into my house is a bit of a rarity, and it's hard convincing her to sit down and play most of my other games. So the temptation was even stronger due to that.

Anyway, I was at work today when I bought a paper, looked at the Wal-Mart ad and saw they were advertising Wiis and it said "minimum 5 per store." It was slow at work, so I asked if I could go across the street to Wal-Mart. They said sure so I headed over there and lo and behold they had like 5 of them. Granted this was 3 in the afternoon so I was amazed that they still had them. ***On a side note, after I bought it I had to run over to Meijer for extra controllers where a man and his 2 sons were staring at the empty Wii section blankly. I asked if they were looking for Wiis and they said yeah. I told them I was just over at Wal-Mart and they had a few left after I got mine. They got really excited and thanked me, I hope they got one. ***

Now I've spent about the last 3 hours playing Wii Sports (probably picking up other stuff tomorrow) and it's a blast. I've even had my first Wii related accident, while I was telling my wife about wiihaveaproblem.com during a game of bowling, she goes "who in the heck would have and accident playing this?" and I swear, just as the words leave her mouth my hand nails a bottled water and sends it pouring onto my HDDVD remote.

In short, I'm eating my words on this one, the Wii is a great system. VC games are pricey, but Nintendo has nailed it with this one. I hate eating my own words, but this is worth it.

Glad to hear that you enjoy it. Is your wife enjoying it? Definately try out different kinds of games. It really makes gaming a different experience.

The Wii is fun as long as you love the HELL out of Mario and forget that third party games are exciting and interesting.

The Wii is a cute little cousin to the next gen of gaming. In a year, it won't have any support outside of Nintendo's team itself. Again, you'd better love the hell out of Mario.

You sound just like the guy who bet his entire TF collection on the failure of the DS. Are you going to be making the same offer?

I remember when I got a Gamecube, someone told me pretty much that exact thing, that all other companies signed exclusive contracts with Sony, and Xbox was going to be able to have anything they want because it's made by Microsoft. Hell, I remember back in the days of the NES people were telling me how Sega was going to take over the industry.
That said, I wish I could afford a Wii.

    Well it almost came true
but not remotely because od anything like that. Heh.
...and that didn't exactly work out either.
Yeah, I remember that too. Might have been interesting if it actually happened.

Baseless and poorly thought-out speculation is always fun. To laugh at.
The truth? Whichever company sells the most consoles gets the most 3rd-party support. Always. Once that support is established, the console sells even better. That's why launches are important.

There is only one for me at present, Zelda.
And that's not enought to warant me buying one.

The Wii sections of game stores here are laughable.

Wii Launch Titles are certainly better than the PS3 launch lineup and if memory serves is equal or better to what the 360 had in it's first 2 months.

I heartily disagree. They are all as laughable as eachother. Although I would probably have more fun playing Resistance than pretty much anything else on launch if only for WWII WITH ALIENS.

    Because it is -dumb-.

let's see, Zelda> than all other launch titles on any Next Gen system. While it's only one game it's still enough to make the Wii launch better than the other 2's pitiful launches.
