"A cuckoo clock strikes once on the hour every hour. Example 4:00 strikes 4 times

At 1:00am the first strike is heard, how many times will the clock strike be heard, in one full day."

    any help?

    1+2=3+3=6+4=10+5=15+6=21+7=28+8=36+9=45+10=55+11=66+12=78x2=144
    My guess is 144

You better be sure about the one strike per hour language, did you add the 4 stikes for 4 o'clock?? Or was that in the riddle??

Unless the clock is silent for the night hours, then you wouldn't hear those. :D

You've also gotta deal with whether you're counting the final 12:00 strike as part of the current day or not.

I need more info than this!

    How old is the clock?

In which country was it manufactured?

    How big is the clock?

Has the clock ever been used as a blunt instrument in an unsolved murder?

we figured it out, its 276. apparently its a 24 hour cuckoo clock, and doesn't count the last 12 hour strike cuz taht would be the next day.

    stupid board game!

BTW this doesn't make sense, it strikes "once" on the hour every hour yet your example states it strikes 4 times on 4 o clock? If it strikes once every hour then wouldn't it strike 24 times in a day? My answer is assuming that your example was meant to say that the chime was heard 4 times by 4 o'clock.

You know what, fuck this game.

If I had a clock that made that much noise, I'd probably lose my mind before ever bothering to finish the riddle.

Presumably, the OP meant that when the clock strikes the hour, the number of times the chime sounds is equivalent to the hour that the chime is announcing. At one o'clock, the chime sounds one time. At two o'clock, the chime sounds two times. Etc.

I get 156 as the answer for a 12-hour clock and 276 as the answer for a 24-hour clock.

I am no expert at clocks but don't those types of clocks make rooster noises and not the striking noises?
