So i work at a hotel right. Working third shift which sucks. What is worse is when people make mistakes i end up suffering for it. Like tonight there was a guy who was in a room and was moved to a nother room. I went to check in a guy into that room and he said the tv was on and there was someone in it. Ok so i am like i will go up and handle it. I went up and knocked on the door and no one answerd. I knocked louder and a guy cuss me out. It was the guy that had been moved to another room. Supposively he was moved but was never told. So i go back down after appologizing and check in the other guy to another room. The guy calls back down and cusses me otu somemore telling me i am going to pay and that i am the biggest asshole and that i wasnt properly trained. I Am so mad though writing this out makes me feel much better now. I get cussed out all the time because people i work with do this shit. Gosh i am just sooo mad!!!!
To make things easy.. I'm calling the guy who called and cussed you out Mr. Angry Send the asshole who screwed up by not properly moving/notifying Mr. Angry to Mr. Angry's hotel room and tell him that the guy (Mr. Angry) asked for him specifically to talk to him .. make up a good reason why so it doesn't get back to you. That should redirect some Mr. Angry energy at the other dude.. and it should be pretty damn funny watching Mr. Angry make a bunch of employees "pay" for their insolence.. Edit: I once was asked to help out another department a while ago.. they were short staffed.. so they send in a bunch of people who were inexperienced in the profession of CUSTOMER SERVICE.. well i get this jerk who first makes sure he hears my name.. thinking it'll be some sort of leverage.. I tell him the crap they told us to say "Sorry... <blah blah> . we can only take a message and a specialist will be right with you" Well.. this dude calls.. and he didn't like that answer.. so he gives me the DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM.. crap.. and i just smile and say in a nice way. "Sorry I still can't do anything for you.. etc etc" and then goes on to be an ass and I just mute him and relax until the phone call gets silent.. then i go "Sorry sir.. yelling at me won't change anything. Would you like to leave a message?" Oh well.. Another lady called.. and also got angry.. and when she didn't get what she wanted. she told me to hold on.. made another cell phone call to a friend (i guess i was on a land line) and proceeded to have a conversation in spanish while i sat there waiting for her to come back. Then after a moment.. she lets out a huge laugh.. i guess there was a joke involved... and then i hear a click. It was a very interesting day... that one.
haha i was by writing this thread i have clamed down but i am def talking to my boss. I was completely calm with this (mr. angry) guy appologizing all he kept dowing was calling me a fucking asshole and that i am going to be paying out my ass.
Not just a cop, but SWAT. The perps may cuss him out...but I'm pretty sure his toys are bigger than theirs lol
I wouldn't even cuss out a cop. That's just crazy. Maybe he's referring to all those times he's searching for a toy and gets there before some other fan and they cuss him out "HEY.. THAT SHOULDA BEEN MY YELLOW STALKER!"
I'd say next time he calls you that to say "sure thing you mindless bullcock" under your breath. If he snaps and asks you "what did you say," reply with a simple "Sure thing you wonderful Mr. Bullock." If his name is that by chance, great, if not then "Oh, I'm sorry. I've mistaken you for a guest who treated me with kindness and respect." If he gets in your face, then ask him POLITELY in a STERN voice "sir, if you cannot speak to me in a polite tone, and cannot stop verbally abusing me I will ask you to leave. If you do not, I will call the cops" Sure, it is a misdemeanor for verbal threats but it would ruin his day. He is likely the type to be all talk, and no walk.
I think we're missing the larger point here: Living in Lynchburg and working in a hotel were both decisions you made, presumably while sober. Without belaboring the obvious, there are other places to live...and work.
Its a common thing if you work in customer service. Just don't let it bother you. Of course it makes it easier for me, since I talk on the phone and most of our customers are in other states....
Last 2 times I was pulled over I was very polite. 1st guy gave me a warning. The second still gave me the ticket but was very helpful in trying to minimize my fine. It was unfortunately a situation that he couldn't just give me a warning for. It pays to treat people with respect.
Update: So the man went down to see my boss yesturday. He came down and said that a) i looked like a clown and wondered how i got the job in the first place looking the way i do? b) he wanted to have it fixed. He is yelling at my boss. My boss says well it was second shift that made the mistake. The man was like so how are you going to fix this still yelling at my bosss and cussing him out. He gave his room free told the man that it wouldnt happen again. The man is well that is great that next time i stay at your shity hotel it wont happen again. He said but what are you going now. He said i gave your room free. He said no i want that thrid shift person fired. He doesnt know what he is doing. He looks terrible and he is a very lazy worker. He was like are you going to fire him. I want you to pick up the phone call him and fire him. My manger said no i wont and i am going to ask you to leave. The man leaves and as he heads how calls my boss an asshole again and said i am very disappointed ill be calling your corp office. My boss is amazing. My boss told me we need to go out rent a clown costume and me dress up and send him a post card. I love my boss.
Why was the guy so angry, it was only because you knocked on his door and maybe woke him up because of a mistake? That's all there is to it? And he wanted you fired because of it? It sounds like there has to be more to it. Fuck him. People like that need to get hit by buses.
