I've seen many mention of a Classic line, are those G1 reissued, if so can they transformed, or are they just like plastic statues or something like that?

Does anybody have a link to see them. :horse:

No classics are new transformer toys based on original charachters from the G1 area but modernized, here's a link that should work for you

    http://tformers.com/classics.php

I really think these are some of the best TF toys we've seen in years so if you find any, you should definitely pick a few up for yourself.

Think of them as "updated g1". G1 characters, done with today's technology.

Thanks a bunch.....excuse me "BLARGH!!!" I'm sorry I had to vomit there for a minute. I'm sorry but to me Transformers will always be Gen. 1, nothing else.

    To each his own. :)

I personally don't care for g1. I dumped all mine earlier this year. :)

    Welcome to the boards.

You won't find many who share that viewpoint, I'm afraid. The Transformers franchise is a hundred times larger than just G1. It was great at the time (yes, I was there), but G1 pales in comparison to the stories and the products that have been produced over the last 10-12 years.

Well thats your viewpoint, not everyone agrees mind you, who cares though, we're all fans and thats what we should celebrate, not trying to tell everyone what is better, its all just opinions anyways. For me personally, the original was the best, but to each there own.

At least I'm not getting insults due my own preference, but you guys are right. It's about being fans of the franchise in it's entirety, but as for my own preference G1 is it for me.

:D  Indeed. The delightful thing about this franchise is the fact that there are aspects can appeal to many folks.

The real intent of my post was to help prevent any "Die Geewunner!!!11!!" attacks on the new guy.

j/k If it makes you better Heart, classics are G1 updated for 2006. You can't get any better than that.

yeah, i doubt it's ever gonna get better mold wise than Classic's Prime and Bumblebee for looks and articulation of the G1 characters.

(i still weep for chrome and rubber tires, but overall, aside from Starscream, it's likely not gonna get better for G1 than classics ~ well, except for Binaltech/Alternators ;)  )

Wow. That's an . . . odd reaction. At least, considering this is the closest we've ever seen to being true to G1 while still modernizing the toys. Not that you're not entitled to your opinion, I just have found that most hard-core G1 fans look at these toys and go all giggly with glee over them. I had a buddy who hasn't bought a Transformer in years but was a HUGE G1 fan buy all of wave one when he first saw them.

I guess I'm just confused how someone who loves G1 couldn't at the very least appreciate these as an homage.

    But, to each their own.

Aside from the typical "they're not metal!" complaint, I find that a lot of people actually liked the wonky proportions and lack of posability in G1 figures, so I guess for them it makes sense not to like these. Go figure. I don't get it at all, but then again a lot of people don't get the transformers thing in the first place, so...

As an adult, I like classics better. As a collector, I like G1 ( just because it's practically antique ). As a kid though, I liked G1. I did NOT like heavily articulated toys as a kid. For me the fun was in play battles. I liked the fact I could transform them and stand them up really quick. With all the joints the new ones have, it takes too long to get them on thier feet. Thus disrupting the fun. I think that's what your friends that like the bricks like about them too.

i'm the opposite, dispite my love for the diacloen-era G1 stuff, i always would look at my GIJoe's and be sad that Smokescreen couldn't bend his legs forward, Skywarp couldn't bend at the kness, etc.

Jetfire and Perceptor where of 2 favorites as a kid, precisely because they werea articulated ~ i'm pretty sure i broke a few TFs trying to modifying their heads to turn, etc.

I have the solution then, Artiepants.

Reissues for me, Classics for you! :D
