Yes that' s right, I 'm leaving the snow and cold of the Burgh for sunny Florida. I can't wait to get there and spend some time relaxing at the beach. And I hope the Distro is better there, cause it suxx up here.
Yes, yes...one TF each to the Florida Sightings crew. Post what you have, and we'll pick. Onesock and I are first, due to our recent/ upcoming birthdays. And welcome to the Sunshine State...do you know where you're gonna be, exactly? -Tony!
I left Florida about 5 years ago. Worst state I have ever lived in. Terrible humidity, lots of bad neighborhoods, few good jobs, etc. The sun and humidity makes people insane- honestly- every crazy thing that happens somehow orginates from Florida. You may like beaches and the sun, but just wait until you have to drive to work after your cars air conditioning breaks.
I lived in Miami for a better part of a year, and the traffic drove me crazy. This after living in LA.
Oh! I forgt to mention the bugs! Yeah, say hello to the palmetto bugs for me. Not sure if they learned how to talk yet...
I love to hear people's misconception of Florida. It's comical. I hope the move goes well and welcome to the Sunshine State.
I'll say something positive about Miami. Damn the women are hot! It's Miami that taught me to have a fine appreciation for the ample backside of women.
Really? I've lived here all (almost) 31 years of my life and I currently live almost 2 hours from the closest beach. I live in a college town and the mean age is about 26 years old. For about three months out of the year I have frost on my car in the morning. I also have air conditioning in both my car and apartment which negates the whole heat issue. And windows that close, hence no bugs. So to recap, Florida is no different than any other state. It just happens to hang a little lower.
Born in Homestead when it still existed, still have family in the Keys. And my Dad's vacation/retirement home is in Crawfordville (right in the armpit). No beachs, but it's right on the Bay of FL. Headed there this weekend a few days of sunshine and quiet. Oh, and getting really, really drunk. Not the biggest fan of South FL--love visiting, but wouldn't want to live there. Love North FL and the Panhandle. That's just me, though. Overall, there's plenty of worse states.
I have lived in FL for 14 years so don't tell me I have misconceptions. Given, I am talking about the Tampa Bay region so I don't know the whole state, besides the fact that it does have bad humity and huge ass bugs. Seriously, there are happy people there and I wish you the best, but maybe, just maybe you will be sitting there one day saying "man, that jerk on the transformer threads was right..."
