Skids! I'm actually suprised that he hasnt gotten a CHUG toy given his rise to the public eye with the movies. Maybe we'll get him after the movies?

I'd like to see one, but I don't know if they'd do one right now because the G1 version is so different than the movie one.

Yeah, but I was meaning more of a difference in personality. I think Hasbro would claim that they don't want to confuse fans or some other equally dumb reasoning.

I just don't think he's as popular as some of the other characters. I certainly never particularly cared for him.

He's not. As is, I think he is more notable due to his near constant reissuing from Takara and Hasbro than he is as a character.

Considering the core source for most fans is the original cartoon (in which he barely had a role in a mere two episodes), I'm not surprised he hasn't gotten a figure.
All considered, movie Skids is arguably more marketable than G1 skids.

you're really gonna compare a character like ironhide who's a well known TF despite continuities, to a character who appeared in one episode.

The problem is, if Hasbro released a G1-style Skids figure in, say, Generations, kids would look at a blue car and just go "hey, that's not Skids!" and become confused and not buy it. Probably. That's what I reckon is stopping Hasbro anyway. :2c:

I'm happy with the g1 skids being part of my classics collection, he is tall enough to fit in OK. If they did redo him, he better be a crappy little van again!

I think a Ford Escape type of vehicle would suit him very well. They're smaller SUV type of vehicles, in case someone isn't familiar with them.

I too agree he should get a generations release,as back in about 1996 or 97 my brother owned that type of minivan/car and I would love to see a new version of him.Besides they have done less known characters than him in the line, like drift (never in the G1 tv show),so why not Skids?.

Skids is an odd one. He was the Autobot car with the least cartoon screen time and thus probably the least popular, yet he still got an Alternator.

    Of course, so did Swerve.

The way they're going through the 84/85 Autobots, I'd be surprised if we didn't get a Generations Skids eventually - probably after DOTM's toyline though, to avoid confusion with the other Skids. Given Hasbro's fondness for new heads, Crosscut would be a no-brainer.

Yeah I assume it's only a matter of time but they're still working through some A-listers at the moment.

Well, Skids had some pretty good moments in the comic - I'm thinking of his return to reality after being stuck in limbo for 100+ issues, only to be driven insane by those weird little critters. He then joined the Survivors, so that's not a bad record.

    Bring on Skids!
