I'm going to Chicago this weekend and I was wondering if anyone can give me any advice on things to do there.

I especially want advice on where to shop for some good toys.

I'm already trying to plan for some combination of the Shed, Field Museum, Navy Pier, Sears tower, architecture boat tour, tour of Wrigley Field, Art Museum.

And I know of the Magnificent Mile.

And I'm definitely going to hit up some good polish restaurant I heard about, "the Apple ... something"?

    What else???

    Thanks in advance...

Say "whuttup!" to my friend Abel's family (he's from Chi-town, but lives here in my town).

Quake Collectibles - Lincoln Square - Chicago, IL

awesome place for toys. there are a couple out in the suburbs that are probably not worth the drive.

GRAHAM CRACKERS COMICS Illinois' #1 comic book store
there's one on magnicificent mile, err well right off it. it's in front of millennium park. i haven't been there in a long time so i'm not sure what they offer in transformers, but definitely other toys.

    Hot Doug's

wow, best wieners you'll put in your mouth. their menu changes weekly. they use game meat. they also offer a couple of veggies.
this place is the size of a little hot dog joint. the line goes about a block.....so be there early and be ready to wait in line. or call in your order 20 minutes ahead and pick it up and get the fuck out. but it's fun sitting in there. awesome fries. cash only. this guy makes so much money he's only open from 10 am to 4 pm on weekly bases and closes on sundays.

wrigleyville has a shit ton of bars. it could be pricey, but definitely worth it and fun. you'll see wrigleyfield and then you can take a pic of the marquee. which is officially a city landmark, as well as the ivy..and the interior beams that are exposed.

Congrads man, Chicago is a great place to visit and wish I could move back. But anyways all the things you've listed are great things to do but depending on time some of them take quite some time if you want to see everything. But if I had to narrow it down I would say got to the Fields Museum, Wrigley (this is a must), Shed Aquarium, and Navy Pier.

I'll be up that way myself in a few weeks to go to my first game at Wrigley....I can't wait

Shedd aquarium is really cool, expect to spend at least a couple hours there. Catch the dolphin show if you go.

Are you going to Chicago proper, or the burbs? Keith's Comix in Roselle (maybe Schaumburg?) has a lot of comics and related toys/merchandise.

I just posted this the other day and left it alone. I come back and find some great advice from you guys!!! Thank you so much.

Yes, thank you. This is what I was talking about. Def going to Quake Collectibles. I'll be on the Magnificent Mile so I'll stop in Grahm Crackers too. And I'm planning on being in Wrigglyville so I'll probably hit up a bar or three.

Now I have to go to a hotdog joint. Not sure if which one, but between Hot Dougs and Weiner Circle I will make the trip. Billy Goat Tavern sounds cool too. AHH too much to do! Probably going to spend a lot on cabs.

And def going to pick up a deep dish pie. At Ginos.

    Thanks for the tip!! :D
