    I've decided to quit Transformers.

I've been collecting since Beast wars, but something's different now.

Every time I see a TF I don't have , I can't stop my self from buying it.

I look at many of my Transformers, and wish I could return them.

I love them, and I want more of them, but I'm becoming more aware of my

spending... I've totaled up my collection to $3367.00 Retail Price...

I know alot of you fellow TF fans have spent way more than that, but I don't

have a job yet, and I live in a beach house, where a hurricane could just

blow away all my TFormers. It just seems ike such a waste to me.

I still play with my Tfs, but what happens is: I see a new TF, have to have

it,I get home, TF it, and it goes to "THE SHELF", where it is occasionaly

re-posed, and I look forward to the next purchase.

I think it's the purchase I like more than the toy...

I want it until I have it for 10 minutes.:redface2:

I don't know if I will be visiting the boards anymore...it just makes me want

to buy more TFs...I might drop by to chat though...

I hope this is in the right forum, and please, I need all your help to quit

    this hobby...

Wow, good luck dude. It sounds like you are collecting for all the wrong reasons. Before doing anything drastic, like selling off the entire collection, you might want to box them up and store them away. You might regret any hasty decisions later. You might want to also consider counseling because if you stop collecting Transformers, you might end up collecting something else (like collecting dvd's or video games, etc). You need to figure out why you have the urge to constantly buy things. After you have that figured out then you should decide whether or not to get rid of the TF collection. Hope this helps and good luck.

Im sorry to hear you feel that way man. If that is your decision, as a fellow Transfan,, I fully support you , and encourage you though. Collecting anything should not be that way. Its never been like that for me (I continue to enjoy mine LOONG AFTER the initial purchases), but if it ever does...we will be in the same boat bro.

EDIT: I completly agree with seawing aswell.

Like everything in life, you have to do it in moderation and within your budget.

Shelf/Box them, unless you need the money.

Agreed. I'm sure you could make your initial investment back and then some selling off your figures. You should try considering posting reviews or something for your figures too before you part with them.

Everything you said is correct. it's an addiction, and it totally wastes money. You have to understand before you become a collector. So good luck with you. I'm gonna keep collectin' for now.

    To the addiction!

I'm sorry you feel this way. I also have to agree not to sell your collection right away. Wait a while, and think it through. Make sure it is truly what you want to do.

I find myself sometimes feeling the same way. I think that I just need to buy something, and then it gets boxed or shelved.

Lately I've really slowed down on the buying. This allows me time to actually enjoy my toys. Also, this helps me to spend less.

I did that with everything from RID and up and stayed only for G1. I still love the new stuff and will get animated because the show rocks and the toys are amazing. I took a long long time thinking when I sold it and then I did it and of course some molds I still love ( RID optimus and so on) but not enough to own them.

as many said..think about it really hard before you do it.

One Side of the Coin: Only you know yourself best. If you think you are definitely done and you are the type that doesn't ever look back then go for it. It will save you money and you will make back or maybe surpass your initial investment.

Flip Side of the Coin: If you are the type who is wishy washy on stuff like this or you think you MIGHT get back into it later then hang on to your stuff. You may regret it later and possibly have to spend MORE money to get it back. You can always put it aside and come back later to see if you feel the same way then.

Just giving you both options depending on your personality. Either way I wish you the best of luck and take it easy.

I wish this gentleman the uttermost luck in deciding. Like I mentioned in another thread: IMO, one doesnt even have to collect the toys to be a true fan.

If the purchase is sweeter than the item itself, it likely is a good time to sit back and re-evaluate. :(  I wish you all the best, man.

Instead of give up, just take a berak, something temporal, if after the break you feel teh same way, then it's time to walk away for good.
