Today I am happy and feeling celebratory, as I have just been informed that I am to report for training in 2 weeks time to become a full time Communications Officer at my County Sherriff's Department. I've spent 2 years trying to land a job like this, bouncing from one bad job to another, then picking up random temp work and barely paying the bills for the last, oh, many months. This is a joyous occasion! The personal and professional rut I've been in for so long has affected me on many levels, and on a side note, I'd like to apologize to anyone and everyone on this board who has ever been offended by my occasionally indelicate way of phrasing things. I feel so much better now, that I'm going to try to turn over a new leaf. When I'm in my new job, I'll be dispatching police, ambulance, fire department, and utilities trucks to resolve emergency issues. This is going to be great, making a difference, helping my community, and getting paid for it. I haven't been this happy in a long time.
