Hello fellow TF collectors! I was in Ikea a few weeks back and stumbled on a set of acrylic bathroom containers (for tissues, lotion, q-tips, etc) on clearance for $5.99. If you toss the "lids" you end up with 5 different sized acrylic stands that are perfect for displaying TFs (and probly some other toys too). I have taken a few (blurry) pics of my displays so you can get an idea of what they're good for. I bought 4 sets, then went back and got 4 more because they worked so well!

They're originally $7.99 but apparently discontinued, so they're on clearance for $5.99. If you have an ikea near you it might be worth checking out!

Here's the link to the product on Ikea's website:

Those are pretty cool. Too bad the closest Ikea is like 60 miles away.

Heh, yeah and my g/f has been on an IKEA freakout just because its IKEA and I ordered her a catalogue. Apparently they don't ship glass and are damn near useless unless you have a store nearby. Our closes is in texas I think. They need to open one in kansas.

IKEA's UK site lists these at £6.63 a set - and they won't ship glass here either. The nearest IKEA is a bit of a pain to get to as well, so time to sweet-talk the in-laws into driving us up there!

They wont ship these? They're not glass, they're plastic. That's weird...

Apparently they won't ship them anywhere.

I checked and got the 'Most likely in stock' message.
They should change the message to 'You might waste your time.'

They're in the bathroom section of the "marketplace" area, not the showroom (obvs).

I think its not a matter of them not shipping them, I think its because they're on clearance. So the warehouse likely just doesn't have any.

where was it found as on clearance for 5.99? My wife just picked some up and they were still 7.99. I was so set on getting them and they weren't that much more I just got anyway. Just curious why the one in Twin Cities didn't have the sale.

Weird. I'm in Northern VA, the specific store in question is the one in Woodbridge VA. Perhaps their clearances aren't company wide?

Still, its not a bad price. I bought one, then compared prices online to see what "real" acrylic product stands costed and it seemed like most sets were $15 for 3 or like $35 for 8, something like that. Considering you get 4 boxes plus the soapdish (really only good for putting a car on, I have Cybertronian Cliffjumper on one) for $8, its not bad.

Since that first buy I went back to get 4 more sets, then yesterday I happened to be near the Ikea again and got 4 more.

they are 7.99 though in the chicago area. funnier yet is the sticker @ ikea said they were marked down from 9.99 when normal price on the website is 7.99 :lol

Yeah, they're pretty awesome. Plus normal acrylic stands only go one way because they're shaped kinda like an upside down "U" but these are essentially little cubes, so you can use them 3 ways with the open part facing backwards and its not really noticeable at all.

That's a pretty good idea. That'd be good replacement for my empty alternators boxes, but the closest store is aobut 6-8 hours away.

    my results with these kits!

It was funny when I saw this thread cause I had just bought a new display case for my bedroom (bless my wife for being so wonderful) and I had bought it from ikea and actually eyed these bathroom kits on the way out but didn't buy. Once I saw this thread and some pics I picked up 7 kits. Here are my results in my new case

Hey, what did you do with your seekers? Is that a lid balanced in the soapdish? I dig how they're downward angled like that...
