I remember awhile ago someone asking about shelves for their collection, and most everyone replied with a certain shelf from Ikea, what was that called again?

Detolf. I have three of them, and two other curios. See the link on my sig for pics. I think they're alright, but I wasn't entirely happy with them until I got my plexiglass risers. I still prefer my largest curio the best.

    $60 each

They really are smaller than they look. There's more vertical than horizontal space -- hence my addition of risers.

I see what you mean by the space being more up-and-down than side-to-side. The risers are a good idea.

    Thanks for the info! :)

you could try the ikea billy bookcases with glass doors. ikea also has a glass shelving idea also i forget the name of that. ikea is a good place to get stuff for displaying stuff. the detolf is also nice pending the size of your collection. detolfs would never work for me as i would need 30-40 of them lol. i use the billy bookcases instead. got 11 and still need more.

Hey optimusfan, it looks like the curios shelves have a lot of side to side room, what about the depth of them tho?

I've got two of the Billy displays from Ikea. I especially like how tall they are. You can buy extra shelves for pretty cheap too. The doors are indeed expensive, and I only have doors on one of them so far. My only gripe is that the doors have a pretty noticeable gap between where the meet in the middle :/

that can be adjusted! the screw in the middle of the latch that is connected to the bookcase. if you tighten or loosen, you will notice that it will shorten the gap in between the doors.

    I priced this out...

    Billy bookcase: $89.99
Billy extra glass shelf: 5 @ $10.00 ea.
Billy Morebo glass doors: 2 @ $50.00 ea.
    Grand total: $239.99 per display

I am NOT saying that is a bad price, it isn't. Especially if you try to walk into a Jordan's, a Bob's Discount, or any other furnature retailer and try to buy a curio there. Like Miasboytoy said, it does really depend on te size of your collection.
