They probably will sell them directly from their website as opposed to distributing to retailers like the first and second releases.

They actually have no choice but to sell through their website. Stores like BBTS won't touch a KO like this.

What do you guys think of the price tags: $300 for the gold one and $260 for the silver one. Because they are "limited".

What a great business model. Steal another company's work, create special limited editions and charge ridiculous prices.

I don't think BBTS carried the original "Faith Leader" either. It's a direct copy of the original mold, in the original colors, just downsized. It's a little too close for comfort, as it were.

Hasbro could not go after iGear (because they're in China, and IC laws are fuzzy at best there), but they certainly could go after BBTS.

Singapore is not in China. It's a separate country. If you don't know that then the odds of you having a small clue about foreign laws are pretty slim.

I'm sure if Hasbro/Takara wanted to go after these people they could, but I doubt they give a shit about a small garage co making 300 of these every once in a while.

iGear is from Singapore? I've always thought they're from Hong Kong or China. Then why do they speak/write broken English? I believe the group spans all 3 countries.

I've ordered from them twice and my packages were shipped from Singapore. The PP-xx products are made and shipped out of Singapore. Not sure about their English.

So true, Hasbro should KO their KO and sell a crappy gold and a silver version for a quarter of the price of the KO.

Who seriously is gonna buy a monocolour KO for $200+

Those are pretty crazy prices for the limited Silver and Gold painted one but on the other hand, place an order for the second run PP01 with the cool cape.

Actually, iGears is based out of somewhere in China. Unless Hasbro moved their factories to Singapore, I don't see how the guy behind iGears could then be getting stolen toys from the factories. I guess their warehouse is in Singapore, from where all of their stuff is shipped from. My sources have told me they either use, or have their own factory in china.

On an average, all these third party groups make atleast 1000 plus pieces. Otherwise, the cost would be even more expensive for the products.

Btw, the term for garage companies is usually applied to groups that don't use steel molds, and do the production of their products, themselves. Though, garage companies are not safe either. For example, Marvel has gone after sculptors selling resin kits based off their characters. And these guys only make maybe 50 kits at the max, which doesn't make mush profit for themselves.

no they did not sell any of the KO LD that was KOToys and they produced them themselves.

The main reason stores like BBTS and TF Source won't touch them as they could get slapped with a cease and desist order by Has/Tak and be legally unable to sell them and be stuck with stock they paid for but can't sell.
