Cheers! Definitely helps to break up all that plain white. I'm sure there are others with better weathering methods, but I just used a very small brush and some silver paint (I think black is too harsh a contrast on white, and can stain the plastic). Dilute some paint with some thinner, then trace the panel lines with the brush, wiping excess paint off as you go. I did the lines on his wings too, but for them I did use black paint.

I gotta say, the more I handle this figure, the more it seems like an official piece rather than a 'knock off'. The details are crisp and the joints are tight... it's as good as the real thing  

 

Do the small wing hinges on his in robot mode suffer from the same stress marks that plagued the Hastak seekers?

 

I wonder how hard it would be for me to repaint the nosecone black without it looking out of place because of a bad application or a different finish...

 

I wouldn't worry too much. The Skywarp nosecone is actually a shinier black than the other conehead black parts, but it's out there on its own so you barely notice that.

If you want a smooth finish get a can of black hobby spray ;-)

 

Cosign. Additionally, black is generally an easier color of paint to work with. I'd suggest Testors acrylic + Future.

 

Really you'd paint on the Future after you spray the nosecone?

What did they do with the wing hinges that caused so many problems on the original molds?

 

Igear seekers all look adorable! I will wait and give TTomy another chance with their MP11 Seeker. If it turns out to be a disappointment like the other samurai MP Seekers, then I'll purchase all of the Igear seekers. Hopefully, the material or QC issue isn't a atrocious like my PP01 Magnus. That Ultra thing was garbage, pieces break everywhere.

 

I am trying for all of them but getting a second TC(for bot mode) is way too expensive.

I use Greenscream as a filler for Acidstorm and Tak Skywarp as a generic clone.

Not sure if not Sunstorm looks good enough yet(bot modes colors are kinda bugging me)

 

I just got my iGear Ramjet!! He looks awesome with my other seekers. The quality is surprisingly as good as my Takara MP seekers.

Question, which reprolabels did you guys use for iGear Ramjet? Deceptions Symbol (Mirror) or (Silver) or (Clear)?
