So this is probably based on Optimus from Return of Optimus Prime when he had the special metal alloy coating?

Is it supposed to be a proto/test shot-ish KO, or their take on 'sleep mode'? Can't see much demand!

Was that first one supposed to be a kit that you paint your self or something?
Anyway, I kind of like the chromed one, but the gold is too much. Although, great if your a fan of the episode Golden Lagoon was it? Electrum anybody?
So how many versions of this mold are there now?
    1st Walmart Masterpiece
    2nd Walmart DVD version
    3rd Takaras
    4th MPO4
    5th Ultramagnus, white-Prime
    6th Nemesis Prime
    7th Unpainted version
    8th Silver plated
    9th Gold plated

    Did I miss one?

Jesus. Who keeps buying this shit? I can guarantee you the demand for a lazy unpainted version of the mold isn't high in the slightest.

I agree, I'll just stick with the MP04. Best one there is bar-none.

I'm buying the painted ones. The gold/silver/"Lucky Draw" releases are an easy pass, even if the prices were quite a bit lower. I've got virtually no interest in official releases that take this approach with the decos.

It's funny that they are attempting to tune into the market that normally goes for that sort of thing, but haven't yet figured out how to do a Shattered Glass or Ultra Magnus colored version.

    Honestly... this is ALMOST brilliant.

I mean, how many people out there beside me have that weird affinity for those unpainted grey prototype images that surface for new figures? I know there are a few. For some reason the flat grey just brings out all the detail in the mold, and often I'm almost disappointed to see a new mold in final colours after seeing a sweet looking grey proto.

Anyway, if I was gonna shell out the money for this, I'd get a colour version, but there were only very few of these made, and it's sold out now, so there must be a few grey proto fetishists out there... :lol

bet they took the test shots they had and made sure they were complete, and decided to make a few bucks. Genius, actually.

They modified the mold a little bit (shoulder joints, and added magnets to the waist area). I have a feeling these were test molds. I have no interest in them, but like Smog said, if you're into painting models then this could be cool for you.

IGear is still missing the trailer for their Leader products. It would be interesting if they make a trailer and if they do will they downscale the trailer they have planned for Masterpiece Convoy. They could make the variants, regular, black, and clear....

Yeah, I just missed out on one. :(

I was planning on getting one and bashing it up to look like dead Prime.

I'm convinced they have completely abandoned everything that was not yet produced prior to the mini-MP stuff taking off. The trailers that you mention are most likely never going to come out.
