If you were Megatron how would you make Optimus Prime and the Autobots surrender? I would capture as many humans as possible and i will threat Prime by surrendering or i kill the humans.

Why make them surrender? The Autobots can not be a threat without sparks. Just place them in stasis lock and yank the sparks out. Then destroy the sparks and take over Earth.

Are you trying to say it wouldn't work? Are you both saying that Wheeljack isn't an important enough member of the autobots or enough of a well-loved character that his loss wouldn't demoralize the Autobots to the point where they'd consider surrender and cement Megatron as a major threat to their existance if they don't?

 

He was killed in the movie and the autobots still won  

 

Yeah, I dont think it would work........to get the Auto's to surrender.

Ultimately, I think it will only serve to rally the Auto's into a direct attack on Megatron in retaieation.

They didn't seem too inspired to rally by his dead body in the movie.

 

To beging with only 2 characters [maybe] saw the body [if he was really dead], and no one knew for sure how he died or who may have done it.

You were suggesting Megatron out right just walk up and kill one guy, not in a fight or battle, 2 different things and it would effect troops in a different way.

2ndly, it actually did, Springer and Arcee started working on defensive.

Springers even had some nice words "I have better things to do tonight then die"

 

Can you provide any conclusive proof from the writers that Wheeljack was meant to live? No? Then he dead.

2ndly, Springer pretty much encouraged Arcee to leave Wheeljack's corpse where it was to help him move the launcher. "Better things to do tonight than die" was about self-preservation, not avenging the grisly demise of a friend.

I was more thinking for the OP that during one of their weekly fistfights that Megatron use that giant cannon on his arm and just escalate things by vaporizing Wheeljack's face or something, then using that as a surprise to gain the upper hand on the other Autobots.

 

G1 Megs: Laugh maniacly, punch Starscream, and pout because I lost.
TFA: Grin evily, kill STarscream, insult Prime, feel good because Lugnut bows, and destryo the Earth.
Movie: Rip Optimus's spine out, buy a new cloak for my face owies, grind Starscream's crotch with my tank treads, and tear Sam's head off.
Prime: Try not to go to the light incase Starscream pulls the plug.

 

I'd have Starscream and co. do it.

Your logic is faulty.

Wether or not theres evidence that proves he was intended to live is on no way evidence that he's dead.

So even if I could not provide proof from the writers that Wheeljack was meant to live in no way equals his death.

But since your asking for evidence from the writers, your asking for non canon evidence,canon meaning from "inside" the story.

Well then, as a matter of fact I can prove "conclusively" he wasnt intended to die in that scene.

Now remember, the scene we see Wheeljack on the ground was before Devestator was formed on the first night of fighting.

Now heres page 53....it takes place on the 2nd day of the fighting


it shows Wheeljack alive and well with Blaster

Now, heres page 70.....it depicts a scene after Devestator was formed.


As you can see, Wheeljack is alive and well, With Bluestreak at his side on the 2nd day of the fighting.

So, there you have it, proof that the writers did not intend for Wheeljack to die in that scene, on the first night, before Devestator was formed.

And BTW, there arent any story boards that depict Wheeljack being killed or being found dead, like there is for Trailbreaker.

And canon wise.......its possible he lived.

It could have been either, thou I tend to agree with you, seeing those bodies motivated thrm either way into action not inaction.

It didnt encourage them to give up and surrender.
