i just had a random thought, if you guys were bay, would you guys had acceped to do tf4, like he did, or you would had refused and kept DOTM as your final tf film?

i would had refused to do TF4 if i was him, since to me when i want to end something, i want it to end. even if it was way to succesfull i would refuse doing a sequel, cause as i said when i want to end something, i want it to end

What's the question here? Every time Bay directs a TF movie, he makes enough money to put another one of his kids (if he has kids) through expensive-ass USC film school and set them up in their own lucrative movie-directing career, thus ensuring his family's financial security for one more generation. Plus, he likes explosions. Why the hell wouldn't he do it?

You'd be insane to pass up the opportunity to make more dough. I'd continue directing such films for the rest of my life if I were in his shoes.

Especially if it gives him the pull to make more personal films in-between.

I wouldn't say heart and soul, but certainly lots of time, effort, talent and reputation.

Yeah I won't be so ethically bankrupt to DENY that I'd do it if the drove the proverbial dump truck of money up to my doorstep. (apologies to Krusty the Klown)

If I was Bay I would've done what Bay did. Because I am Bay. And that's what Bay did.

If I was me in Bay's position then that's a different question entirely. But I'd have still signed up for TF4 because of the money. In such ways me and Bay are very much alike. We both love tits and money.

    Of course.

Bay is heavily compensated by the franchise.

He's an a list director for this kind of film.

The franchise is a proven winner.

He gets to use the latest movie making tech.

    It's all win for Bay.

    No.

I would have a long time of reflection of how much i ruined the franchise with my stupidity and turn it down in the hopes of a more worthy director makes the darn best Transformer film ever.

    I'd say no.

Honestly is rather outdated these days, but I think a person's word should mean something. If I had made such a big deal about the third film being my last Transformers film then I would have stuck to it even when big piles of cash were offered.

Also if my heart wasn't in it I don't think I'd want to take on the monster task of a film that big. Once again just me being outdated but I think a director needs a passion for the project he's working on if it's going to be art instead of just cashing a pay check.

I would have probably done the same as him. Bay seems to like doing different projects, and I can understand how he would feel the 3rd movie was a good time to step away from the franchise. But money is money, and it'd be tough to turn down enough money to do what you WANT to do after another tf sequel.

I would do it, if for nothing more then to keep the goons the studio execs would send to make me an offer I couldn't refuse at bay :)

Unless Bay has a medical disorder that makes money poison to him, then of course I would.

If I were a greedy and talentless director, who just wanted to make more money? Well yea, of course I would.

His wife is a C-17, his son is an M1 Abrams, and his daughter is an ATV. By that, I mean that he doesn't have a wife or kids.

For all those fans that said no, are you saying it as Bay, or as an angry fan that didn't want him to direct another TF?
