Thank goodness I don't use them. I'm just upgrading too, so I spent 15 minutes making sure my cable company wasn't associated with them.

 

We are so F-ed down here. in my town, all we have is Time Warner cable (or satellite, which i don't have) and they charge us what they want.
in the town where my bro-in-law lives, he has adelphia and they charge what they want.

so great. we're gonna get billed the same 62 bucks for basic cable and pay for almost 20 channels we won't get.

and as a bonus, they are the channels to watch late at night when Girls Gone Wild or those other Infomercials are the only thing on the other 40 channels.

Aw, shit, I got that same message. But I don't have Time Warner, I have WOW! Cable. I mean, I wouldn't give a crap about MTV, VH1, or Nickelodeon (they deserve this), but Comedy Central...oh HELL no. That's when I get pissed.

EDIT: I knew Viacom would do something like this. The reason they're doing this is because they're not getting enough cash. Viacom? More like Via-con artists.

 

That totally sucks. I hope other cable companies don't follow suit.

 

Hello DirecTV. I was already pissed that Time Warner doesn't carry the NFL Network. Now this shit? I'm so done with them. I can not live without Comedy Central.

 

Time Warner just went through this same crap with our local CBS affiliate WTHI-TV 10. It was off the air for nearly 2 months.

 

This has nothing to do with Comcast right?

 

We're losing FOX for the same reason, But since I don't watch it, it's not big for me.

 

I saw that and laughed my ass off. Sorry to anyone who has TW. I turned Comedy Central on just to watch the bar going across.

I work for a cable company. Thankfully, they have enough sense to do whatever they have to, to keep customers. I can see why so many people switch to Direct TV and Dish Network. One of my co-workers talked to a lady last week, he had to send a tech out to fix an issue. She said that she would have had to wait a week or two with Comcast to get a tech. He scheduled her for a tech the next day. I just don't see how the bigger companies stay in business.

The company I work for was voted Independent Cable Operator of 2007.

According to the scroll going across Comedy Central, it only effects Bright and Time Warner customers. So you should be fine.

Honestly can't say I care the slightest about any of those channels, but my dad will probably be t-ed off if he can't get his South Park.

I doubt it'll remain this way for long, though. One side or the other will cave soon enough, those are pretty popular channels.

I saw this when I was watching some of Spike TV early early this morning....I about nearly freaked a bit...not sure if it affects those of us who have Comcast....

I don't even WATCH MTV now these days...and never did...MTV just never was that much of a channel that I watch.

 

The one I'm most pissed off about is VH1....I need my Celebreality!!!

 

Wow, good thing i have northland cable in Greenwood SC. I know Raleigh NC uses Time Warner. My god, does TWC want to piss the entire country off?

Seriously, Viacom, you make more money than Bill Gates and Donald Trump combined, why charge more. And TWC, why are you being a buncha cheap-o's.
