I would resurrect the deepest one in the Transformers timeline:....

Transformers: The Real Life, like watchmen esque, showing the dark side of TF's :ev:

    Animated.

There was just entirely too much potential for that series both in terms of toys and the show itself, and I think we only saw the tip of the iceberg of what it could have been if it was given 4-5 seasons. Excellent writing, best voice acting cast since G1, endless clever homages & character reinventions, usually great dialogue, and surprisingly 'deep' for a Saturday morning cartoon. Plus it was not wrapped up well AT ALL.

As for G1, I wouldn't want to resurrect & continue it as much as I'd like to re-tell it for a modern era. Keep the core elements, back stories, principle characters, etc. essentially the same, but just tweak a few things here & there, do away with filler episodes, make it a bit more mature, and create an all new continuity from what we knew as Season 2 onwards.

Animated, it was the best TF series ever and still had a lot of story left to tell.

It would be G1 in a heartbeat. Spruce up the animation quality back to season 1/2 levels, introduce more of the toy characters who never showed up, and then have a real season 4, 5, and 6 to include the headmasters, pretenders, and micromasters.

Or, do a G1 tribute that re-animates it in CGI (like the Resident Evil 5 or Final Fantasy movies), keeps the soundtrack the same, but corrects the animation and coloration errors. You can pad out episodes a little with filler characters who can interact with the still living voice cast in some semi-new episodes.
