I got good news for you! Japan did that, it's Headmasters. And it's not as bad as people make it out to be, so long as you get the fansub and not the Star TV Dub (BILLY!!!!!!).

It skips Rebirth though, so those 3 eps are sort of in limbo, but still, it's not all that bad a conclusion and continuation of G1.

I've got bad news for you. There are 3 different versions of fan dubs and none of them have made it past the 4th episode.

Again, I'd like to see what happens with the Nebulons and their new partners and how that all worked out.

Plus Double Dealer and Punch/Counter Punch, like someone else said, are great plot devises I wish we could see. That and, Optimus Prime should be in charge, not Fortress Maximus/Cerebros. (Fort Max spends too much time in city base mode to lead.) On that note, I like having Spike bonded to Cerebros. It keeps him relevent and makes him even more important and useful than he was before. He wasn't (bonded to Cerebros) in the Japanese continuity.

Also, the Japanese Headmasters continuity basically has nothing to do with the Targetmasters. They show up for all about 3 minutes and that's it. In the US G1 continuity the Targetmasters got more than that in the first 3 episodes. They looked promising. (I really liked Triggerhappy. Also enjoyed seeing Hot Rod lead the Autobot Targetmasters.)

Animated all the way, has a bit for every TF fan and the toys were fantastic

BW was great, but it ended well and BM aside was a complete arc

G1 could really do with a continuation as Headmasters and Targetmaster were criminally under used and it had miles left to go, but thats too in the past for me.

I say Animated just because it was cut down in its prime and cancelled way too pre-maturely (I still say they should've just put it on hiatus while they concentrated on movie stuff).

Second choice would be a continuation of Beast Machines, y'know with Cheetor, Rattrap, and the gang during their new golden age of Cybertron.

A G1 continuation would be cool, but would you really want one now? Some of the voice actors are dead and animation is so different nowadays wouldn't mesh well lol.

I'm all for more Animated. I'd like Wyatt to continue designing the next show frankly.

G1 is done as far as I'm concerned. The Japanese Headmasters took care of that the right way. I'd love to see more Super Link since it's my favorite of the modern series. It's the epitome of what a Japanese Transformer show should be. If that show had the Gonzo production team behind it, it would be perfect.

I will say that I wish Beast Wars got it's fourth season instead of rushing everything in season three (I see a trend).

TransTech for me please. BM just didn't really have the best ending to the G1 universe. TransTech would have given that to us.

And FunPub's TransTech is total shit. Awful garbage.

    Interesting question.

I'd say resurect Animated, even though I didn't really like it that much.

I know it was a show written by people who LOVED the franchise, and that love comes through in every episode of the show. I know the engineering in the toys was jaw-dropping in both what in terms of the transformations and the accuracy of the show-likeness. And I know that the show was taken to the heart of a great many TF fans who were genuinely heartbroken when it was cut down in its prime. Plus its corpse is still warm enough and fresh enough in people's minds for it to slip easily back into life should the desire take Hasbro to reach for the defibrillator paddles.
So for those reasons, I'd say Animated.

But in an ideal world, I'd say G1, with the updated character designs from Universe and written with a more mature audience in mind in terms of plot complexity, characterization and subject matter. But it would be a very niche series, and probably wouldn't take off with the general fandom or the public, hence my choice being Animated.

I do agree that Transtech should come back as the next TF Series, however,I do like the direction FunPub was going for.

If Transtech doesn't continue, then I go with Animated.
