    Ebay:
    How would you do it?

This was just something that jumped into my head while reading some other "I hate eBay" threads.

Everyone complains about the business practices of eBay. How would you fix it? Say you had the opportunity to start over. How would you set it up to be better?

Not double dip in getting money from both paypal and the ebay sale itself.

This irks me to no end.

I agree, also make it were as soon as the buyer pays he gets feedback though e-bay and has a rating showing how quick he payed plus the number of times he non-payed.

Also, the seller can not receive feedback until he leaves it for the buyer, but the buyer can not leave feedback until his payment has been processed.

I agree with all of this and the no double-dip.

Prevent any listing with the word "Bandai" in it from being listed in the Transformers section until the person has been shown a picture of G1 Jetfire and asked "is this what you're selling?" If it isn't, and they still list it in the Transformers section, their life is forfeit.

I thought of that too, but if the seller obviously knows he/she dicked the buyer over, wouldn't they be able to dodge a negative by not leaving feedback at all?

Then make feedback mandatory, or if one does not leave feedback at all they automatically get a negative from the system for not leaving feedback.

Im not sure what to do with the feedback system, I think some interesting things in this thread have already been said though.

But I would get rid of Buy it Now! Its made ebay even more into a haven for scalpers. The way I see it, its a damn auction site not a resale-retail website.

I would make a limit on shipping cost. I mean 50$ SHIPPING AND HANDLING FOR A MINI_CON PACK THAT WAS 99 CENTS!

eBay used to be awesome, they should just make it the way it used to be.

    Ebay:
I would love to ban the use of RARE and HTF in listing titles. Nix the eBay/PayPal double dip as well.

I disagree with this - I usually only get stuff off eBay when it's a Buy It Now. I've been sniped too much in the past or been pushed up in bids by someone with no interest in buying the item that I enjoy seeing a guy with an item and saying "You want it? $50, first come first serve."

Word. I greatly prefer REASONABLY PRICED BiN to auctions. The seller knows what he or she really wants out of a lot, a buyer knows if he or she really wants to pay it. There is no shill bidding, sniping, etc. going on, just business.

I like this. I am tired of not getting left feedback. I pay within hours if not immediately yet I am not getting positive feedback? I'm upholding my end of things perfectly. WTF?

the only way to save ebay is to shut it down till all the scalpers starve from refusing to get real jobs.......

    then re open it.

A lot of scalpers have normal jobs too. They're not going anywhere.

    Supply and Demand!

I love the buy it now feature and pretty much search that way exclusively. Definitely one of ebay's best features.

Don't forget "l@@k!!!" Because I wasn't interested in that Ultra Magnus cab with no accessories until I l@@k!!!ed, and saw it was both RARE and HTF.
