I would go back and take some pictures of the Titanic before it sailed with my Digital Camera. Same goes for the Normandie before it caught fire and sank.

But what I am saying is that changing events could cause a huge ripple in time and changing history as we know it. Even as silly as it sounds to you... I am not saying that the distant relative of man A would be stupid enough to go back and do that...I am saying that an event such as a war, where said Man A was meant to die...making everyone who was attached to him, move on. If he didn't die in the war, he would of went on with his life, changing what was meant to be and causing interactions with his life that effect others, hence upsetting the past and having ultimate effect on the future.

Everything involving time travel is in theory.

Aspect 1:...from your eyes, altering the events...like back to the future, Biff goes back in time to change his past, alternate to marty, doc...but reality for everyone else. While you know of the changes everyone else doesn't. Meaning you can make changes, and it obviously can alter history.

Aspect 2:...event happen regardless of altering...for instance, you save a person from getting killed in a car crash by preventing them from getting in the car ahead of time, even though you did that they still die as a result of what was meant to happen. Like the movie, the Time Machine...he goes back and stops his wife from getting killed the way he saw her die...yet every time he goes back, she still dies in a different way. Otherwise resulting in a paradox of him not having a reason to go back and save her, because he wouldn't of built the machine to do so...

 

I would travel back to my office 4 hours ago and move my tea away from the phone cord.

Besides, everybody kills Hitler on their first trip.

I'd travel back to 1999/2000, to find out how the hell Limp Bizkit became so popular during that time.

This. I'd love to see whatever it was come down before the US Government got to it. If I can't make it to Roswell, I'll make due with Kecksburg, PA on December 9, 1965 and see what crashed there.

I would go back to various historical eras to collect 25 crystals to stop Dr. Cortex and Uka Uka from taking over the world.

 

Step 1: Travel to ancient times. (Egypt, Greece doesn't matter)

Step 2: Steal ordinary (and unimportant) items that today would be considered as ancient relics.

Step 3: Travel back to present.

Step 4: ?????????

Step 5: PROFIT!

 

I'd go back to May 1977 and see the original Star Wars in theaters.

Possibly go to back to 9/18/65 to watch the first episode of I Dream of Jeannie.

 

Hmmm... Do we get to keep the time machine no matter where we go?

 

go back about 7 years or so, tell myself not to go out with the harpy of an ex-girlfriend who sucked 5 years of my life away, and not to get that 1998 honda prelude. I couldn't afford it and got repoed a year later...now i've been going down a downward spiral of credit debt ever since. It's been hell trying to climb out. 
after that go back to '85 and tell myself to NOT break all my tf's.

 

Thats why i would be very careful about going back to ancient times.You pop in on a time machine.You would be acused of using the power of demons and shit.Then they would kill you.
