Legion Prime - He Who is Many
Legion Prime began his days as spark specialist Flicker. He was part of a research team that tried to determine if sparks could be replicated, so the long lives of Cybertronians could be extended even more.
The group's work became more and more dangerous, as they began experimenting directly on living sparks, often on unwilling patients.
One such patient, a prisoner secretly taken from a medium security lockup, was brought in a strapped down. What the team did not know was that the prisoner had smuggled in a weapon, and planned to escape from the research facility. Before he could make his move, the energies from lab's equipment caused the hidden ammunition to explode, causing a chain reaction that devastated the lab.
Badly injured but still mobile, Flicker made a desperate gambit to save his comrades from oblivion. He used surviving equipment to extract the sparks of the other researchers, but with no way to safely store them, he connected them to his own body, using his own internal systems to sustain them.
It was disastrous. A massive power surge fused the equipment to Flicker, and caused the sparks to blur together, merging into one. Overwhelmed by the trauma and agony of what was happening to him, Flicker stumbled out of the lab into the darkness.
He would be changed forever. Flicker and the other researchers were gone. Instead, there was a sort of hive mind forming within Flicker's body, slowly focusing and finding mental clarity. It took many mega-cycles, but soon, the combined sparks truly became one.
This new being rebuilt its body, and improved the spark-harvesting technology that created it. It could somehow process the combined experiences of multiple lives, and take the knowledge from them all. The new being saw this as a gift, and would find dying Cybertronians and collect their sparks to add to its own. Desperate bots would willingly submit to the merger, as if a savior had come to deliver them. The body would die, but the spark would live.
By the time the first hints of civil war came to Cybertron, the being now called Legion had absorbed scientists, doctors, warriors, statesmen, and inventors. It joined the civil defense forces and quickly ascended to a leadership role, a natural fit for a being with lifetimes of military experience.
Legion had also developed something of an addiction to adding to itself, to absorb more sparks. To the Cybertronians, who believed that all would be one eventually, many saw Legion as that One, and would come to call him Legion Prime.
Struggling against his darker impulses by the collective will of hundreds of Cybertronian patriots, Legion fought to protect and preserve peace, but was more than willing to absorb the sparks of the fallen, both friend or foe.
Legion Prime crossed the line when he led a foolish attack upon an insurgent position. The move was doomed to end in disaster. Legion survived and harvested dozens of sparks.
Horrified by his own actions after this "feeding frenzy", Legion stole a ship and fled Cybertron. His current whereabouts are unknown, but it may only be a matter of time until He Who is Many will return, ready to harvest more sparks. It will be a dark day for Cybertron, for they would face the collective will, intellect, and cunning of thousands.
No offense, but I feel like I kinda want to use that..o-o
A Prime that doesn't want to be a Prime at all and just chills at the bar every day.
Optimus Prime... Wait is that taken?
Spectral prime, the autobot leader could control the spectral light.
A friend and I have had two Primes beyond Rodimus in our fan stories back in the 1990's.
Omega Prime - Rapido, after leading the Autobots for a short period of time after the death of Rodimus, eventually became a Matrix-less "Omega Prime" (Machine Wars Optimus Prime). Rather than carrying a token, Primus infused Rapido with his wisdom and creation ability, thus gaining the upgrade and becoming a true Prime rather than a token-bearer.
Neo Primal/Prime - Omega Prime was able to sire a son in accordance to his creation ability, who then became Neo. Omega fell in battle to a revived Galvatron (BW2) and Neo went into exile, gathering Maximals to his side to eventually lead an assault against Galvatron II. Eventually, he succeeded and became a Primal after realizing his inherited traits from Omega. He would eventually take on another form as Neo Prime (RiD Car Robots Fire Convoy).
Optimus Primal was an alternate "what-if" future Optimus Prime who had a limited role in our story.
Eventually, Omega Prime was resurrected, although he eventually returned to being Rapido briefly before he died permanently in one of our last stories featuring a "Prime Academy" of sorts as The New Matrix of Leadership chose several different Autobots to become the next Prime...and it was thought an academy would be set up to determine which would ultimately become THE Prime. That lead to...
X Prime - Long ago, Nova Prime betrayed Cybertron as a result of his ambition and belief in Cybertronian supremacy. Realizing his erroneous ways, he exiled himself...but what he did after that was the unthinkable. He literally committed an act of suicide by slicing his spark in half. However, that was not the end of his story. Both halves survived, but one was consumed by the good within him and the other was consumed by his evil nature. Both halves seek to become one again but the Autobots find the good half first and he is enrolled into the Academy. Meanwhile, the dark half begins a reign of terror on Earth and Cybertron to draw the good half out. Ultimately, both halves reunite and, with the help of the Matrix, the dark half is brought to face the light of wisdom. Nova Prime is chosen but he discards his name and is then known as "X Prime", using "Dagarn X" as his Prime form.
And that's where our story ultimately ended.
