Ok, we had the thread about changing something about yourself. Now lets think outside of ourselves. If you could change one thing physical or philosophical about another person, who and what would it be?

Mine: I would change this unhealthy habit a lot of people have of telling others what they meant. Many times people don't stop and think "Hey, that's not what I meant." Instead, they just go along with it and end up arguing over a misunderstanding rather than the actual issue at had, all because of pre-conceived notions.

I dunno if ur actually here to post abt TFs but just pointing out: theres been other guys come before u who think they can suddenly be some moral police. Theyre either banned or LEFT FOR THE LAST TIME(tm).

So if u wanna stick around n enjoy posting abt TFs u might want to just relax while ignoring the negative elements. Otherwise its looking like a short stint 4 u.

Another thing I would change is people's skin color. I think it would do wonders for helping people to walk a mile in another person's shoes if everyone suddenly saw them differently than they see themselves. They'd learn a thing or two about how you can't judge a book by its cover.

Hmm. You know... this thread is a form of passive aggressiveness in and of itself. While nothing here is snide or snarky it is a veiled attempt at telling others what to change about themselves without actually coming out and doing so.

That said; if I could change one thing about others it would be this: I would require everyone to live by the motto "live and let live". You live your live and allow others to live their lives. Unless your help is asked for or you see someone on a destructive downwards spiral than you should stay focused on trying to be the best you that you can be and not worry about the guy next to you. As a wise man once said... you are so busy trying to pick the speck of dust out of your brother's eye that you fail to see the plank of wood in your own. I tell you to first clean the dust from your own eye.

That wasn't my intention, but I can see how someone would make that connection. I'll just say that's a unexpected, pleasant by-product then. :)

I know that verse well. I used to quote it all the time until I took a closer look at who Jesus was speaking to, and what his true meaning was. Then I discovered Luke 7:43 which flipped my attitude on "Judge not lest ye be judged" upside down.

We could all use some more back kibble. :)

    Understood.

There is a great deal of truth in that. Still, I think it's a lesson for all of us to take in regardless of whom he was talking to at the time. That said I agree with the second half of your paragraph. It truly does turn things on their head.

Sort of like the last time:

    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/general-discussion/610395-disagree.html

    followed up with

    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/general-discussion/610501-psychology-collector.html

Which is extremely ironic considering the conversation you had with Aernaroth in first of the aforementioned threads.

No, I honestly don't think that was his intent as the only time he even mentioned it was in response to me in this thread and I was first to make a veiled comment towards that end. I only veiled it because we're not supposed to talk religion on the boards.

Pre-conceived notions in motion here. It's easy to point the finger at me because that's what they've been practicing all along. I haven't seen any apologies for the misunderstanding...not that I want or expect any. Just another observation of how people behave when something that's not to their liking or expectations is presented to them.

Simple answer a vast reduction of Greed. Not removal, but reduction, bring things into balance.

That's an interesting idea. Yes, balance is important, and I would agree, greed is currently tipping the scales.

What would I change? Absolutely nothing.

    Why? you ask...

I'm not in any position to decide what should be different about other people, when there are things I need to change about myself. Most especially when speaking about people in general, rather than specific people. Even then, I would only make some friendly recommendations, as the topic of things people "need to change" about themselves can get very personal, and people can get hurt easily (thus hampering any good that could have come from said situation).
