    .

... but has one or two cool moments, will you repeat view at the cinema?

This poses quite an interesting dilemma for the average Transfan who wants a TF film done right.

If they repeat view and support Bay at the box office to see those (inevitable) cool parts again, it will effectively mean the film performs, reaches its targets, and that Bay and co. will be free to hold on to the franchise for a minimum of another 3-4 years, a sequel, and more of the same.

If the film underperforms, but the resurgent popularity of TF is made apparent by the enterprise, well then it maybe paves the way for a new, possibly more fan-orientated director in the Singer/Raimi tradition who see the potential in the fanbase ... new ideas, new vision.

And isn't that, ultimately, what we want here long-term, to do the TF mythos justice?

    Your thoughts please?

No, I've been here 3 months on and off, I have 99 posts, and I haven't been here long enough not to have MOMENTARILY forgotten as I hit the post button about the movie forum staring me in the face three lines down.

Or do people not make mistakes in your world?

I won't be doing either; I'll be going to see it like the chump that I am.

    Once, probably.

he'll proabably be illegal all the way, most people do it. Honesty is difficult to come by when it comes to movies and tv downloads. Since the movie will be available to download before the DVD is released, that is probably what a good deal of people will be doing.

To try and steer this on-topic, correct forum or not, I can only decide whether to repeat view the film after seeing it the first time.

To be fair, it would have to be bloody good for me to want to do that, and it would be a decision based upon that, rather than a strategic decision that may or may not affect who may or may not direct a possible sequel.

I honestly don't think a live-action TF film could be like what's gone before, no matter who made it, ergo it can't "waste" the franchise.

It's new: a blank slate with no precedent. Those expecting TF action on the level of (any of) the cartoons were doomed to be disappointed from the start.

To answer the question: No matter how much I love a movie, I'll only see it once at the cinema. CASINO ROYALE was my favourite film of 2006 and I nearly went to see it again, but realised that would dimisinsh the fun of the DVD.

And illegal downloading turns my stomach - The "victimless crime" mentality adopted by those who continually do it, just to make themselves feel better, bothers me no end. I'm proud to say that my PC contains nothing even remotely 'stolen'.

    I'll try before I buy!

If the movie holds any type of goodness I will see it in the cinema.

Look, I'm a HUGE movie fan. I see everything in the movies. Sometimes twice.

But The Transfomers is a scam. I grew up loving the cartoon and collected the toys for years. But this movie is gonna flop and most of you will wish you checked it out before you seen it. Can't you smell the wreckage?
